Need Ashwin to step up for this game. Has been well below par this series. He has been a failure from both bat and ball. Hope that may change but not looking good at the moment and Aussie pacers especially worry me. he did pick up a 6 for in the fourth innings of the second test.

Kohli misses out. Kuldeep Yadav (left arm chinamen) to make his debut. Bad news for India. Steve won the toss and decided to bat. Rahane is leading the team for the first time.

Ugh. In a big game, you always wanna bat first. Aussies already overwhelming favorites.

At least Sharma is out. Bhuvi comes in. Batting looking lightweight though.

Huge pressure on Pujara and Rahane with Kohli out and India playing just 5 batsmen and batting last. This is gonna get ugly

Australia rollicking along at more than 5 an over. Nair dropped the series on the first ball of the match.

New ball utterly wasted. Smith in prime form. 150/1 by lunch.

lol, such defeatist attitudes here. this is not the 90s. this is not chauhan and raju bowling. this is ashwin and jadeja - number 1 and 2 bowlers in the world. they look like they could get a wicket any moment now. cheer up aj and park.

Well we were unbeaten at home in the 90s, unlike this decade. Ashwin has bowled well against Warner but given too many easy singles to Smith.

Smith is basically a right handed Chanderpaul on steroids. Gonna torture us as much as Chanderpaul did as well.

The series is literally over for India. Can they draw is the only question?

Ashwin has bowled well against Warner but given too many easy singles to Smith. we got owned 2-0 by SOUTH AFRICA in 1997 or 1999. and were held down to a 1-1 draw by the west indies in 1995. pakistan beat us in 96-97 at home. we lost two tests to them and won just 1.

I think we got owned by saffers under Tendulkar's captaincy in February 2000. I think we lost no series at home in 90s in tests. Pak drew us 1-1 in 99 series and beat us in Asian championship of Tests but not bilateral series.

Brutal session. Warner being incredibly lucky at the worst possible time from India's POV and Smith looking imperious. The new ball bowlers let us down after a promising start. F**king Nair with the first ball drop. Cost us in the last game as well by dropping Handscomb on the 5th day.

if australia win this match, some people might say kohli pussied out of playing this game like ganguly did in that 2004 series when adam gilchrist captained australia to a famous series win in india.
