Yeah I already know all of that. That's what I said. Okay, but you and everyone else here is missing the point. The primary goal of this deal was not for Marvel to make any money. It was to get Spider-Man into the MCU which they accomplished that without spending a dime. Will or if they make any money in this deal is beside the point. SaveSaveSaveSave

I think it's brilliant on their part. Don't fight Sony for the money, let them have it, get to use the character, and use Sony to make some additional films they wouldn't make otherwise. Both studies hype eachother both on screen and in the press, Sony get's their coin, makes some tie in films and everybody wins. It's fantastic.

I acknowledge that Marvel really needed this deal but, Sony needed it more. A third reboot of a disconnected Spider-Man franchise in a market place where consumers want shared universes would not have worked out for them - no matter how many fucking Sinister Six or Venom movies they planned to put in the pipeline. There are some ill-informed (aka shit) narratives about Sony "regretting" giving Disney the rights to Spider-Man if Homecoming underperforms. That's bullshit, and it makes me sick. Sony produced a Spider-Man movie like they always do, the only difference this time around is the bought in some troubleshooters to iron out the kinks. End of story. SaveSave

They should finally rename this movie in "Iron Man & his little protégé. It's too bad they won't, my sword swinging, one star friend. Maybe next time. SaveSave

It's looking like they did it justice, and I'm actually more confident that RDJ is there because he probably wouldn't have signed on if there was something amiss.

You really think he cares THAT much about the quality of the script if the price is right? I wouldn't. Jus' sayin'...

Tom Cruise didn't care that The Mummy was a bad movie and RDJ sure as hell doesn't care that Spider-Man: Homecoming could be a bad movie. They get paid the same amount of money whether the movie is good or bad so they don't care.

Is he the boy who was granted three wishes and then used his first wish to wish for three more wishes? I don't know RDJ personally so I would never presume to know his thought process. However, I would surmise that his primary goal in life is protecting the RDJ brand. He likes the spotlight, and he loves being associated with successful ventures - like every other human being on Earth. Why would he not care if Homecoming, a film which he is in, besmirches his name and continuing legacy as Iron Man? SaveSave

Meanwhile, when Justice League flops (which it probably will, at least with critic reviews) they're most likely going to reboot the DCEU.
