From everything we know about the movie, it's clearly meant to have a lower budget than the main X-Men films, and it's also been described as a "horror film". Should Fox just go ahead and give the movie an R-rating?
I have conflicted thoughts on the matter myself. On the one hand, having more R-rated CBMs is a good way of diversifying the genre, which is the best possible way of avoiding genre fatigue. On the other hand, the film is supposed to star a bunch of teenage characters, and giving the film a rating that would ensure that the majority of teens won't be able to see the movie without their parents might be an odd choice.

Demon films are usually not R-rated.
