Unfortunately, I think the time has passed. The early 2000's would've been the best shot. Buffy and Angel were still fresh in the public's eye.

If they could get the right people attached to a spin-off/sequel series, I'd say the time is always right for it. So I wouldn't entirely count it out, but I do think too much time has passed, and if they do revisit Buffy, they would probably reboot it again.
I remember hearing about the potential of a Giles spin-off miniseries. I was so excited for it, and disappointed when it never happened.

I too remember hearing rumours of a Giles spin-off (I think it may have been called Ripper...Iโm not sure). Anyway, I vaguely recall talk of it being about him ghost-hunting or something like that. I recently watched a six-part series called The Living and the Dead on DVD โ and I think that had the โfeelโ or what I imagine a series about Giles ghost-hunting would be like (only it would be set in present time rather than the past).

Yeah. I remember reading rumors about Ripper potentially being a BBC show. I figured if any other cast member was strong enough to carry their own show, it'd be ASH.

I wouldn't mind a revival/sequel, but not a reboot. Reboots to me rarely recapture the magic (or whatever the draw was) that the original had. But the time to do it would be now with all of the revivals that are coming out: X-Files, Gilmore Girls, Full House, Prison Break, 24 (a few years ago), etc. so it would make sense, especially with Bones over now and none of the cast doing anything major...that I am aware of.
I know I have posted this before , but I think (and want) a revival of Angel is what is needed because it was canceled and had to wrap up everything so abruptly; it never got closure or to tie up all the lose ends (yes, I know they did After the Fall in the comics, but comics aren't the same as a TV show or movie). I think a miniseries of about 10 episodes or so to tie up things would be good. It could even work in Buffy and co. in some way as long as it focused primarily on the Angel crew. Of course there are many problems with this: Angel was never as well known as Buffy was so there may be no demand or interest (I do vaguely remember a letter writing campaign to the WB network from fans pleading with them to not cancel it), David (although I think he looks great) has aged and that would be problematic (as it would be for any of the vamps), not to mention getting David, Joss, and everyone involved would be difficult, etc. There are probably many more reasons, but...I can dream lol. This is what makes the most sense to me because Buffy had an ending, her story (mainly a coming of age story) was over (at least in Sunnydale) and the audience got closure, Angel did not. But if they were to do a Buffy revival and got Joss and the cast back then I would definitely watch it!
Yes, I, too, remember hearing about potential spin-offs involving Faith, Spike, and Giles, unless those were just made up by fans.

I don't think it's ever too late. After Twin Peaks comes back after 25 years, anything is possible.
However, the aging of David Boreanaz and James Marsters would be a bit of a problem unleess they somehow activated the Shanshu Prophecy and lived as humans since the finale. I don't think it would have the magic it did, especially since they destroyed Sunnydale and the atmosphere would be too different somewhere else. The town was a major character by itself.
That said, I would still watch it as long as Joss Whedon was involved.

Yep, I agree! Anything is possible.

Personally, I'd love to have a Willow spin-off, but I'm not sure if Alyson would want to do it.

I think there are ways to make it work with the older, original cast. I had one idea where, in the distant future, Willow has become this powerful despot, and a lot of the original Scoobies are actually still around for one reason or another - Angel is still alive, still a vampire; he's permanently vamped, and his appearance is closer to the Master's. In fact, I think my plan was that he's started calling himself the Master. He's lived so long that the affects of his soul are at best a wash in the grand scheme of morality; he's just lived too long really. Oz is still there, it turns out that werewolves who manage not to be hunted and killed can actually live hundreds of years. Dawn's magical nature has kept her alive. Giles is still alive, shrunken and kept in a jar by Willow, who uses him a receptacle for her magical waste, which keeps him high and stunts his aging, while she remains clear-headed. The others set a plot to stop her and she's put on trial and sentenced to be executed using the combination of some of the strongest magic in the universe, but she manages to draw from it and escape into the past; where she alters history and creates a world devoid of magic or demons. The world they know is falling apart as a result, and the champion they decide to send back to stop Willow is Buffy, who they bring back from the dead (again). Angel retrieves her body, which guarded by Spike, now William; his humanity restored, and made immortal so long as he never leaves the confines of her tomb.
