At this point, it seems fair to say that every movie that isn't a superhero film has been underperforming so far this Summer. At the very least, it suggests that the superhero genre isnt going the way of the Western just yet.

Forbes had Clinton on their magazine cover in 2008 with the headline Wall Street's favorite politician. It was no secret Disney wanted Clinton to win. Dr. Strange made the old one into a woman and it came out right before election. Once again, you demonstrate that you are an utterly deranged nutcase with no grasp of how to make valid conclusions from verifiable evidence. I mean this literally--I really think you are a mental case based on the absurdity of your posts and the way you cite random "facts" that have nothing to do with anything. You have absolutely no evidence whatsoever that creative decisions made by screen writers and directors were actually dictated to them by corporate forces trying to influence an election. This is just a shit-for-brains fantasy. Furthermore, the people who run studios aren't as mind-numbingly dumb or crazy as you are--no one with any intelligence at all would entertain for a second the moronic notion that the act of changing the gender of a side character in a goddamned comic book movie would have the slightest effect on an election. Please, go to a mental health professional. Take some medication. You need it--badly.

no one with any intelligence at all would entertain for a second the moronic notion that the act of changing the gender of a side character in a goddamned comic book movie would have the slightest effect on an election. Here's a tip. If you want to accuse someone of being mentally unbalanced, resorting to name calling without providing a refutation of the points raised is not the way to go. It makes you look like a fool. Refute the point at least, that works much better in persuasion. For example, you say Wall Street bankers who own the 6 companies that control most media would not attempt to influence an election using their media assets--yet, we have a perfect example of that--the media saying Trump was molesting dozens of women. They talked about it nonstop-then once it failed to work-dropped it. Do you really think they did that because they were seeking to inform the public and champion the moral high ground? I can only assume you had your head up your ass during this period and never heard the term "fake news." Fake news, fake movies. It's propaganda. You may be the only person in the world who thinks Wall Street bankers are your friends. You never heard that George Carlin skit the Big Club? Where he says: "And now they’re coming for your Social Security money. They want your fuckin' retirement money. They want it back so they can give it to their criminal friends on Wall Street." Their criminal friends on Wall Street. I guess you think Carlin was being mean to suggest bankers were not honest. You can keep suggesting my theory is wrong-but the best way to do that is by proving the points are invalid. I don't have to resort to trite namecalling because I can articulate my views in a coherent fashion. You do not seem to possess that capacity. If warmonger Clinton was in office as was expected, Wonder Woman and Atomic Blonde would be coming out right around the time she was thinking about dropping those mini nukes that Obama signed off on last year. And if you do not believe that, just look up her transcripts of Goldman Sachs meetings where she discussed the merits of dropping nukes on Iran as opposed to an invasion. You just do not seem to be an informed person, and your lack of education makes you short tempered and frustrated. It cannot be easy to disagree with something and be unable to express a coherent argument that supports that viewpoint. I am not laughing at you-I am sincerely sympathetic. Good luck finding the light.

You're either EoTRampage 2.0 or a 'Twilight' fan. I prefer my vampires non sparkly. Traditionally the vampire is the "other" the foreigner, the threat to the stability of the homogeneous society. Won't be too long before Van Helsing will be classified as a bigot. They already said he was sexist for driving stakes into vampiresses. Sometimes a stake is only a stake.

I'm interested to see if Valerian can do anything at the box office. I know it's tracking low right now. But with a Summer where sequels and reboots have underperformed I wonder if something that is relatively new can stand out and draw a crowd?

I never said that, lunatic. This is another example about how your brain is so damaged that you just hallucinate things that aren't there instead of addressing reality. What I said is that the powers that be, not being idiotic and insane like you are, would never contemplate the childishly absurd idea that releasing a comic book movie, or changing the gender of a minor character in a comic book movie, would be an effective method for influencing public opinion. They have much better and wiser ways to spend their money to influence politics. Get some help. You need it.

They have much better and wiser ways to spend their money to influence politics. I might as well give you a taste of your own medicine. Hey imbecile with your head up your ass, if you can spare the moment to remove it from your favorite spot, how about sharing with us your sad mumblings on what those ways would be. I know it will be a laughable response--can't believe I have to humor someone so stupid as to think Wall Street with its generational tribal nepotism is comprised of wise people. One would think the way these children put CNN's ratings into the dumpster with their juvenile antics would be proof enough that your faith in their brilliance is misguided. And you really need help yourself-to change your diaper.

Hey imbecile with your head up your ass, if you can spare the moment to remove it from your favorite spot, how about sharing with us your sad mumblings on what those ways would be. Money spent to produce a campaign or message ad, politically targeted mailing, politically targeted phone/email blast, or put out an army of door to door campaigners in favor of a candidate or message, is going to be a far more effective way of getting votes and changing minds than your nutcase, infantile fantasies of making comic movies or changes within comic book movies. You have absolutely no grasp of how rational adults operate in the real world to get the results they want, whether those results are good or bad for the general population Of course, once again you hallucinate statements I never made. It's as if making sense, or at least making a factually correct observations, is anathema to your nature. Cupcake, it doesn't take genuine, deep wisdom worthy of note to know that making a comic book movie or changing a side character in a comic book movie is a colossally inept and stupid method for changing the results of an election. It takes a ten year old's understanding of how politics and culture work to know what a colossally inept and stupid idea that would be. Which you aren't even close to approaching.

Inventing idiotic conspiracy theories based on zero evidence Forbes had Clinton on their magazine cover in 2008 with the headline Wall Street's favorite politician. It was no secret Disney wanted Clinton to win. Dr. Strange made the old one into a woman and it came out right before election. You are just too trusting of Wall Street I fear. And you believe their media too easily. I wish I could be as trusting. Once you take the red pill, there's no going back alas.

Wall Street loves using the media in an effort to hoodwink the public. If you actually believe that the big 6 companies care about public interest or are lacking in available funds and need to cater to the public you really are a spectacular kind of moron. You are obviously beyond help, might as well just keep to your naive fantasies about business and media. Quit bothering me with your inferior intellectual outbursts. Watch your favorite reality tv program or work on a coloring book. "That’s what the owners count on. The fact that Americans will probably remain willfully ignorant of the big red, white and blue dick that’s being jammed up their assholes every day, because the owners of this country know the truth. It’s called the American Dream, 'cause you have to be asleep to believe it." - George Carlin www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKUaqFzZLxU

If you actually believe that the big 6 companies care about public interest or are lacking in available funds and need to cater to the public you really are a spectacular kind of moron. You are so mindnumbingly stupid that you don't even realize how you are contradicting yourself. Now your story has changed completely. First you had an idiotic conspiracy theory where two different movie studios (who both apparently have identical agendas) desperately try to change election results and influence popular opinion by releasing specific comic book movies or changing characters in those movies.* (Because, somehow, that's more effective that actually spending money on literally electing a specific candidate or endorsing a specific message.) Now you endorse a scenario where they are so powerful that they don't need to cater to the public at all. And of course, in both of these infantile fantasies, these all powerful forces failed to achieve the results you imagine they wanted. Make up your mind, what little is left of it. *And let's not even begin to contemplate the bottomless idiocy behind the idea that the way you help support a female warmonger who has already lost an election and is therefore beyond help is to release a movie about a woman who is determined to kill the god of war so she can end all wars. That's way too high level material for you to even begin to handle. We need to first get you to a place where you understand that 2+2=4 rather than 23.

You are so mindnumbingly stupid I cannot believe I am stuck with a fool like you to babysit. One last time dummy: all the movie studios are owned by Wall Street. Wall Street loves Clinton. Wall Street will do anything to promote their girl using news or movies. Why wouldn't they? They care nothing about the public or traditional entertainment. Sure, matriarchal themes have been around for years, but not such a high concentration at the same time. There is no fucking way the Ancient One was turned into an older white woman for any other reason that a stupid Wall Street banker effort to give Clinton a half-assed PR boost right before election. If you weren't such an uninformed moron, you would know they schedule the release dates for these movies years in advance. Yes, they also didnt want to remind China audiences of Tibet-but they could have made the AO any other race or male, since they did not have any qualms about giving the most alpha male role to a 60 plus black man. And just because Wall Street says they made the change for some other willy nilly reason, does not mean they are telling the truth. Now, can you go back to your hole? I dont want to have to explain it to you again. You are a hopeless naive dope! Go play a video game or something.

Sorry cupcake, but Wall Street, while arguably evil, is run by people who unlike you, are sane and understand how the world works. No one over there is so stupid that they'd think changing the Ancient One to a female would have any effect whatsoever on an election. Only drooling lunatics like you think this way. Now go run and hide--the chemtrails are after you, too! And no doubt there is a black helicopter hovering nearby.

You really got to change that diaper--I can tell it is full up again. If Wall Street studios were as brilliant as you seem to think asshead, you would explain why their buds in their newsrooms got it so wrong about the public mood on the election. They were calling it for Clinton from day one. And Brexit. And trucking out the women for the Trump rape-athon. I know I know-you dont have a good vantage point with your head up your ass (and I see you still have it planted there despite my advice to remove it--oh well, the advice was free).

May 2017 was the lowest grossing month of May since 2006. If you include inflation though it was actually the lowest since 1995.
June was about on par with previous years.
Overall the year is on track for having the worst yearly ticket sales since 1993.

If Wall Street studios were as brilliant as you seem to think asshead. . . No one is saying they are brilliant. It doesn't take brilliance to know that changing the gender of a side character in a comic book movie would have no effect whatsoever on an election. All it takes is sanity and an adult, rational perspective on how the world works. You have neither sanity nor a rational adult's perspective on how the world works. It is as simple as that. You posting history is all the proof anyone needs.

Haha you are right. I do need meds to stay sane after all. Your responses drove me nuts. Why don't you try articulating what would go on in the mind of the average person watching Doctor Strange that could possibly make them change a vote in the presidential election once the Ancient One's character was revealed as a woman? Just try it--it would be cute to watch you trip and fall over yourself trying to justify your idiot, lunatic nonsense. And start with this: the fact that the average film-goer would have never even heard of the character prior to seeing the movie, and thus could not know that the gender and nationality had been switched. Oops.
