I'm embarrassed as the number one Friday The 13th fan...I don't recalled much of the remake...I have seen it once, I hated it...Call me old pops, but I prefer the Friday the 13th of the 80's & 90's...Jason Vs Freddy was not bad.

I totally agree with you here pop_actor and I'm old school just like you too . IMPO - No matter how many times they try to remake this Friday The 13th film nothing ever beats the original ( and it's original sequels too ) . That's how I also felt about the remakes for the films - " Halloween 1 & 2 " and " A Nightmare on Elm Street " ( they are just not the same ) . Some remakes are just not meant to be - IMPO .

The remakes don't have John Carpenter, Sean Cunningham, Toby Hooper, George Romero or Wes Craven artistic touch...
They were the directors who had an original ideal for a horror film, the remakes are only there to cash in on their ideals & most of the remakes fails miserably...

Totally agree here pop_actor ( a most excellent put reply here too ) . These old school creative gents were ( and still are ) the best in the business for these types of films and most definitely a tough act to follow in this day and age - IMPO .

Hey, if you ever get the chance, you should look up some interviews Palmer did about the character. She basically came up with a complete backstory for Mrs. Vorhees and when you hear her say it and then watch the film, you actually notice more about the performance.

I might do that.

Palmer's performance is about the only thing I thought was good about the movie. My choice for a modern version would be Natasha Lyonne. Check her out in "All About Evil" to see her as a loony killer.

How about Natascha McElhone ?
I am definitely convinced that she could play that kind of a character after seeing her in "KILLING ME SOFTLY".
