Somewhat OT: Fox making yet another F4 reboot?

Why not? They've got nothing to lose. Fox has been committed to its sci-fi/fantasy films that are "loosely based on a Marvel comic book" for a while now. Doesn't even feel like the genuine IP anymore. I say let them keep the characters and make all the faux Marvel movies they want.

Marvel should negotiate using the FF and X-Men simultaneously. We need a clearer dilineation between Marvel fans and Fox Marvel fans. Fox Marvel films is like walking into a fake Apple Store in China. No harm done if you've never been to a real one.

Deadpool has never been my thing. The movie did work on the level that Fox was using the character to laugh off decades worth of mediocre X product they produced. Logan? Great movie but, only vaguely resembled the comic book characters it was based on.

What would you say to Marvel making their own Fantastic Four and X-Men films at the same time as Fox? Different cast, same characters, new interpretations. If it's just 5% than Fox would have absolutly nothing to worry about right? If they've been handling things correctly all along, their grip on the X and FF brands should remain strong, right? I know where my money would go on that bet, but that's just me.

Logan is overrated, nice tone and all but other than that its not that good. Its the X men version of the Dark Knight Rises.
I don't care who makes the movie as long as its good. They just need good writers and directors.
Max Landis and Josh Frank were the wrong people to take on FF,their movie Chronicle was trash.

I am with Atomica on this one. Let Fox make their movies and let Marvel do the same. Actually let Fox use all the Marvel characters. If they do a bad job no harm done. If they do a good or better job thats fine too because we get even better movies than MCU ones.

I highly doubt if they can do it since they managed to get 4 good movies out until now in their X men universe (x1,x2, First Class & Logan). Two ok ones ( Deadpool and DOFP). The rest is not so good. Thats less than half. MCU has a higher figure of good movies. Close to 80%. The rest is still ok. Nothing bad.

Marvel is outmanuevered legally with regards to reclaiming their IP from any of the liscencees out there. I can't believe they negotiated film rights that literally never come to an end. I know there was no way they could have known they'd have their own successful studio someday but, giving the filmed rights away forever was an "Island of Manhattan" level blunder.

I think they should push to be able to make movies featuring their lisenced IP alongside the other studios. Honestly, Sony and Fox worked hard to build their Marvel based franchises. They put a lot of effort and money into cultivating a product that many fans love and feel is the definitive filmed treatment of those characters. I'm not a fan of either studio's work personally (outside of one or two exceptions). That said, it would be insulting (and illegal) to ask them to shut down their franchises. All I'm asking is that Marvel get to do the same independently.

I agree. Its a waste of hard work if they had to give it up.

And I must admit Im a sucker for more than a few outings from either studios. Dont tell anyone else but I even liked and sometimes even loved a DC flick from time to time.

Its hard for me to understand the way small minded people think. I never understood blind adoration for something that is important in the great scale of things. I adore my wife and my family. But the reat is just a matter of taste.

I do like to mess around from time to time. But I am also capable of being serious. Real trolls I want to ignore. Sometimes they just get under my skin and I lash out.
