"In Alaska, when the nights get longer... People get crazy."Eric Desmond (Dylan Walsh) has moved away from the sunny Los Angeles in favor of the freezing Alaskan wilderness, where his new line of work is to take care of the environment and to deal with the illegal hunting. But when Desmond stands in the way of the infamous hunter Corbett (Rutger Hauer) and his crew, it ends up costing the life of a local sheriff and some unlucky tourists, and without the law to apprehend Corbett, Eric sees it no other way than to step up and take on the killers by himself.Another 90s Rutger Hauer action-thriller with a fine adventure feel to it, and where the two main main figures have to find a way of working together, if they want to survive the toughest opponent they have met, which is nature. Dylan Walsh, probably most known for the TV-show Nip/Tuck, does a fine job going up against Rutger and his crew of wild dogs, and I thought he handled himself well against Hauer. The main star, is of course the great wilderness, and all the beautiful outdoor locations and in some parts, the film does remind me a little bit of the great action-thriller, Death Hunt (1981) with Charles Bronson and Lee Marvin.
