Am I the only one who doesn't care for the Avatar franchise? The first film had great effects, but the film itself was nothing special. It made over $2 billion dollars worldwide, and didn't leave a lasting impression at all. It was THAT forgettable. I wonder if audiences will even remember the Avatar brand? It just doesn't seem as memorable as other big franchises like Star Wars or Jurassic Park (both which had long periods in between sequels). I just don't see these making as much money as the first film. People will likely grow tired of the series after the first sequel, and the box office will decline shortly after. They're making a huge gamble filming these 4 sequels back to back at $1 billion. What about terminator 1 and 2 and Aliens? |
