I just recently finished Season 1 of Anne with an E on DVD. It's a great show, and it also has a great opening credits sequence and theme song.
I don't even mind that the song is 'modern-sounding'. The lyrics fit perfectly ('ahead by a century'? Anne is indeed that). The opening credits themselves are like a work of art. Every shot is gorgeous. I always appreciate opening credits sequences that look like they've had some actual thought/effort put into them and these ones are no exception. They're simply stunning.

I just finished watching Season 1 of His Dark Materials on Blu-ray and the opening credits/theme for that show are a thing of beauty. The credits themselves are so lovely/interesting to watch, but theme is VERY powerful to listen to. I wasn't sure about it when I heard it in the first episode, but as I watched each episode I looked forward to hearing it more and more, and then by the end of the season I found it very emotional to listen to. It sums the show up so beautifully and certainly left an impact on me. I just can't praise it enough. Definitely worth a listen!
