manfromplanetx That's actually the only Deanna film that I have seen. I liked it ! I edited my note above and posted some of the user reviews. Seems many folks still like her !

Lebowskidoo ππ·π My palate has since sampled the finer things. I love that line cinema-wise and confess that it "inspired" this comment... Sometimes all you really crave is some Kraft Mac and Cheese or a Skippy Chunky PB and Welch's Grape Jelly Sandwich on Wonder bread. That's where the comfort movies (or the "guilty pleasure films" come in ! Some days you want to be challenged by a great film, other days, you just want to have fun. Guilty pleasures are the candy of the cinema, no nutritional content really, but they make you happy and you can't help but love them.

I loved The Pirate Movie, the early 80's pop musical version of The Pirates of Penzance. I used to watch it all the time back in the day, I liked the songs and loved pirates. Then Roman Polanski's Pirates and Cutthroat Island both flopped and a good pirate movie was difficult to come by. I had to return to The Pirate Movie! I also have a big love of 60's beach movies, the ones where Frankie and Annette sing against a backdrop that makes it seem like they're at the beach, with increasingly silly plots with each sequel. There was another Pirate movie that was released in the early 1980's called Nate and Hayes(1982) with Tommy Lee Jones--Its pretty good, but rarely shown on TV I saw that movie back then, sevral times, I liked it so much. Haven't seen it since, I see IMDB.com has it listed under the alternate title of "Savage Islands. "

Bats, this might be a subject for a spinoff sequel thread, but I'm just gonna go ahead and leave this for you all to ponder: Has anyone ever eaten Milk Duds outside of a theater? I don't recall ever seeing them anywhere else! I love root beer barrels, it's been forever though!

As for this category... I don't really know that I would count any as "guilty pleasures," because, with BATouttaheck , MiketheMechanic , and Feologild Oakes , I don't really feel guilty for any of them! Still, some of the movies that I really like that may go into this category: The Road to... movies (Crosby and Hope) Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man
Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein
White Christmas
The Nutty Professor
Hollywood or Bust
The Incredible Mr. Limpet
Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier and Davy Crockett and the River PiratesThe 7 Faces of Dr. LaoMr. ArkadinBedknobs and BroomsticksWhat's Up, Doc? King Solomon's Mines ('85) The Goonies Dick Tracy ('90) Weekend at Bernie's CongoTower of Terror ('97) Scooby Doo and the Witch's Ghost The Village ('04) Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow
A Walk in the Woods Knowing my own tastes, there are probably more, but here goes...
