I also think he may have the dragon horn I don't think that they've mentioned the dragon horn in the television show, yet... I'm guessing that the "priceless gift" is him bringing back Tyrion to Cercei. If Tyrion is a dragon rider at that point... Him using the horn to take him down will make for some great TV. They haven't but they are moving so fast, they can introduce it pretty quickly. My only concern is they haven't really established Euron as a true adventurer as mmuch as they portrayhim as a [more] evil Greyjoy.
He's clearly smarter than he looks or talks, but know that he's a collector of sorts would have come in handy.
I don't think he's talking about Tyrion simply because Tyrion dying is a foregone conclusion of being on the losing side of the battle. I got the impression that he was going to present something to her to convince her to marry him in order to win the battle.
I guess he could get to Tyrion before that. I'm trying not to think of fan theories regarding dragon riders or whatnot although considering Jon's correctly predicted origins, it's possible.

Euron is doing a good job of being just arrogant enough to get people to hate him and prodding Jaime, whom most people like at this point, was the right move if he's going to be one of our main antagonists. I still think the book Euron is much more charismatic and have a stronger aura of strength about him...but show Euron is ok. I hope he has some cool battle scenes coming up...and if he kills one or all of the sand snakes my enjoyment of his character will go up. I'm not overly fond of the sand snakes.

I thought for sure she was going to kill them. It may still happen by next episode I guess although they were awfully nice to her. I'm pretty sure they were Lannisters I don't think that they were Lannisters.. At one point, Cersei mentions something on the lines of "And look what happened to the Freys" in the context that they need to be on their guard... If it were Lannisters, that conversation would have been a tad different.\ Just my 2 cents. Also.... Great opening episode!! I took their red cloaks to mean Lannister men. And since they said they were dispatched to maintain peace or something g like that...I just figured it would've come from the Queen. If they don't take the predictable route and have them turn on Arya at some point it's an interesting reflection for her that not everyone who wears the colors deserves to die. This moment coming after her disposal of every meaningful Frey could put her thoughts in turmoil should she have to make a decision between killing relatively innocent people in order to get her revenge or not. Or I read too much into it.

Just a question if you have any view on this: People believe that King Stannis Baratheon did everything because he believed it was duty. In other words duty was the most important thing for him. I dispute this notion and believe that while duty was very important for Stannis, he was also an ambitious person and used the persona of being a dutiful person to forward his ambitions. What's you take on Stannis and his being ambitious or not? Just 8 days, folks! I've been too busy to reply but essentially I agree with Kiera, Stannis used 'duty' as an excuse to further his own ambition and ultimately went so far off course that he sacrificed his own daughter (probably the most horrifying scene in the series for me) He knew that Robert had no real claim to the throne beyond being able to take it by force so his claim was no more legitimate than anyone elses. BTW, I just heard an interview with the actress who plays Yara Greyjoy on Radio 4. Apparently episode 2 is seriously gory, she says she couldn;t watch parts of it but it's edited in a humourous way (I may have misheard that bit though so we will have to wait and see.

Congrats Ruth as it seems England women are going to win the cricket world cup. We still have got some outside chance but it is pretty sad as if India won then millions of dollars might have come into women's game and there would have been empowerment for subcontinent women. But great to see full house at Lord's. Hats off to English people for supporting the game like this. I agree with you on Stannis.

Aj_June Bloody Hell that was close. India really should have won it. I think England had that cool that is needed on big stage. But this was certainly the greatest cricket match in history of women cricket and will come a long way in giving new direction to the sport. Indians panicked but I am happy that they played so well throughout the tournament and were able to knock off favourites Australia from the tournament. Congrats to English fans! I have mixed reactions for episode 2. Good to see annoying sand snakes dealt for their crimes. But they should show Night king at least for 10-15 seconds in every episode from here on.

How did you feel about the first episode S8?
I thought they cheated us a bit by not showing proper rescue of Yara or attack on the Last Hearth by the walkers. Can't say I enjoyed Dragon ride scene either. Jaime's entry was fantastic though and how he looked at Bran.

I thought it was great as a setup episode. I liked the dragon ride which surprised considering this verified all the godawful fan fiction out there. I think Euron was at his best right up there with his kingsmoot episode.

Instead it might be eventually revealed in some other way. Also, do you buy claims of him being "The Prince who was promised".I
I see Bran as the more likely person to fix the entire thing.

I don;t think he'll keep it a secret, but I also don;t think Dany would think he's the better leader. I can;t imagine him fighting for it, but it looks like that is the setup they are going with. I think prophecies should always be treated as vagaries that are understood after something happened so I don't speculate too much on them. I'm like Tyrion: "Prophecy is like a half-trained mule. It looks as though it might be useful, but the moment you trust in it, it kicks you in the head." While Jon may be the Prince that was Promised, I think he could have been that without any need to be a Targaryen.

Were you surprised that it turned out to be Arya?
What about Dany. Do you think she is supposedly going to turn into some sort of super villain in the last 2 episodes?

i am very happy it was Arya. I had assumed Jon would continue his Jesus tour and come to the rescue. I don’t believe Dany will be a super villain but her influence has been greatly diminished as her forces took the brunt of the attack and her dragons are injured too. She has the Tyrell forces and Greyjoy’s at best but the North has the Vale and Riverlands. It’s all up to Jon wanting it more. I think Dany proved further in the last episode that she is the one best equipped to lead.

The dragons seem to be doing okay (flying high) in the official preview of episode 4.

Yeah, I was wrong about her sometimes in the past although I never hated her. I think she is good. The dragons seem to be doing okay (flying high) in the official preview of episode 4. She may only have one dragon now actually. So the last episode of GOT is about to begin in 17 mins and this happens to be the first episode of GOT that I am not eagerly waiting with enthusiasm. Don't know why but they killed my joy. I am not counting seconds this time around. I just want it to be over. I hope the book has a better ending and is not rushed.
