One claim (argument from authority fallacy) is far more plausible then the other (raping animals) so how is it a "gotcha"! moment? How does this analogy prove what I said is ridiculous? One thing at a time I will respond to this rest after this is settled. Stop being a time-wasting little shit, Blade Junior. I've answerd your fucking questions even though i was under no obligation to do so so stop imitating the Dunce King by just muddying the waters with even more inane questions and either support your claim or retract it. Concession noted.

Why can't I read? "Soaradh is a liar! so we can't trust him and he did something bad!" How is this not the noncentral fallacy.

tpfkar "What makes you think I lied? What motive would I have to lie?'"Why can't I just be misremembering? Again what motive would I have to lie? These are simple questions that you are failing to answer.""My motives matters because lieing is out of character for me. The only motive I might have is trolling and I don't troll. Obviously you would say I do troll but you would have to provide evidence for that."
And I really don't care when you go on misstating misusing misunderstanding fallacies or just about anything concerning logic or philosophy that that you comically bungle time and again and thoroughly demonstrate that you don't have a fraction of the ability to grok. You really could not be more of a (muculent) joke. I replied to one of my posts to try and make it look legitimate.

I had forgotten about the whole avoiding trolling thing. I am sorry that unlike you I have a life and my life doesn't revolve around the boards.

I gotta say, when I saw this thread I thought "I bet it's not really going to be interesting." But as it turns out, it kinda is! It kind of was up to when you posted, but then it predictably degenerated into the usual bickering, finger pointing, accusations of hypocrisy, etc.

Anyone watch it? Anything to contradict the usual "There are experiments you can do yourself to resolve any questions" response? Anything new?

Enjoy. <video> Disclaimer: The usual. My thoughts: I don't really care so much about round earth/flat earth or young earth/old earth, but I post about it for one reason; because I absolutely hate gangster science and I will do anything I can to oppose the filthy vermin who are constantly shoving it on us. And they are without a doubt vermin, fully deserving of the worst pain that hell has to offer. That's all. There are simple and widely available ways to check the curvature of the Earth that the video failed to address. The idea that there are people who doubt the Earth is approximately a sphere in space is ridiculous. What the video means to me is that most people are so stupid they need to make up people (strawmen) even more stupid in order to feel smart. Think about this, they have make up people who think the Earth is flat in order to have some problem they have enough intelligence to solve. What does that mean? It means they are stupid. Giving the makers of the video credit though, they only address arguments against a flat Earth that are insufficient and realizing that is important. You and I know that already. We've seen them here trying to tell us they know the age of the Earth within two percent. Here's a simple and sufficient way to measure the curvature of the Earth. Stand in a flat thin bottomed boat on a large body of water and look at the water on the horizon. How far away is that? If you are about six feet tall it's only about three miles to the horizon. Now suppose you travel three miles toward that horizon. How far away is the new horizon now? It certainly is a new horizon and it is also about three miles away. That's because the Earth curves about six feet every three miles. Notice that it is easy to see much more than three miles if you're on high ground and low ground is far away. It's almost never an issue in construction, but with modern techniques it can be. The Earth curves about an inch every six hundred twenty two yards. You and I probably do not have equipment that can measure that, but many people do have access to that. If another six foot tall person is standing in a flat thin bottomed boat and about six miles away he cannot be seen except perhaps his head. Much farther away he completely disappears below the horizon. If you don't happen to have any flat thin bottomed boats, binoculars, or vast bodies of water in your immediate reach you can do the math to see how far away the horizon would be if the Earth has the radius so many people claim. I did that just now. It's how I got my numbers. It's what I like to do, check things out.

Okay, that's cool, but I've never yet seen a flat-earther get out of sorts and name-call a round-earther for not believing the earth is flat. It's always the reverse, or so far it always has been in my experience. I've also yet to see a young earth creationist unleash a torrent of insults on an old earth evolutionist. It's always the reverse.
