Let's see - Anthony Hopkins has a robot butler. Stanley Tucci shows up again but plays Merlin. Yeah, the fucking wizard. We see puppy sized Dinobots and Marky Mark cuddles one as he praises it for finally breathing fire. John Turturro spends his performance at a pay phone in Cuba. We learn Bumblebee fought the Nazis in WWII. Unicron is introduced but teased for the next movie. So much visual noise. Cybertron comes back to earth, aping the third movie. I think Tyrese is in the movie but barely has any dialogue. All this, and more, left me -

Needs a cameo by Anjelica Huston dressed like a giant dollar sign.

I too was exposed to Transformers: The Last Knight. We need to tell our story, so that others aren't affected by this. Maybe in time, we will heal.

-Mark Wahlberg is The Last Knight. He is descended from King Arthur.
-Mark Wahlberg can engage in a sword fight with a giant transformer.
-Earth is Cybertron.

I feel sorry for some of you. It can't be comfortable having a stick up your fanny to point where you can't relax and enjoy a popcorn movie. I personally expect and enjoy giant robots duking it out when I go to see a Transformers flick. On the flip side I also appreciate the sophistication of a film such is Syriana when I'm in the mood for such a film, which is usually during the fall and winter months.

Fan girl, I completely agree with you about enjoying mindless entertainment. But wait until you see The Last Knight. I didn't mind Transformers: Age of Extinction. This is something different. Do you really like every blockbuster? Have you not disliked any? Have you not disliked any with a passion? You may just be seething after this. Look, go see The Last Knight. You are one viewer I won't feel sorry for if you are sceptical that it could indeed be horrendous. Because you'll need to experience it for yourself tonbelieve it.

Is it even possible to relax while watching these films? They seem like non-stop noise, visually and aurally. I don't mind some good, dumb fun but the Transformers films are like getting stuck next to an extroverted meth head on an airplane.

The mind boggles as to why. If it was half as long it would have been much better.

There must be a logical-- that is, financial-- reason for it.

Thus, I'm not as bothered by the noise in the Transformers flicks.

I was perplexed as to why that was. I know that merchandise supplements the income for films like this, so much so that one of the Pixar 'Cars' films is actually the most profitable film ever made when merchandise is taken into account. So maybe the rationale is to include as many Transformers as possible to ensure maximum revenue. Then again maybe not, as the humans do the majority of the action really. The film was absolutely saturated with constant dumb action with a bloated cast of characters who all had to share the heroic deeds.

I might be forced into seeing this movie by some buddies of mine. It's that bad, huh?
Maybe we can just see The Mummy.
