"Don't let the future pass you by."In the near future, the best ways of dealing with age or illness is by combining brutal bounty hunters along with the little help of a time machine. And if you have enough money, you might just get yourself a brand new body, that is in perfect shape, from another time and place. One of those potentially "donors" of the past, are the famous race car driver Alex Furlong (Emilio Estevez) that one day suddenly gets caught into a freakish accident, and before he knows it, finds himself waking up into a nightmarish future, where he is seen as the perfect solution for a wealthy but dying businessman. A "guilty pleasure" of mine from back when it was always used to be sent on TV late at night, and sure it is cheesy and at times more of a comedy than action-thriller, but I think it is a lot of fun and Mick Jagger did a good job as the villain, Victor Vacendak. Emilio Estevez, Rene Russon, Anthony Hopkins and Amanda Plummer are among the names that star in this early 90s action-thriller/sci-fi film, directed by Geoff Murphy. One thing that I remember, not just from Freejack but other Emilio Estevez action films of that time, was the hilarious over-use of something that sounded very much like a James Brown scream, thrown in, whenever the shit got real, and it was funny as hell: "WHAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!" I feel Good, nanananana.

I haven't seen this one in years, but I too used to catch it regularly on cable. I thought it was awesome, but like I said I haven't seen it in forever. There was just something about it that sucked me in.
