Damn, even the Windows 10 Creator's Update had a few vulnerability problems. I think they also disabled any third-party antivirus software to force users into using Windows Defender.
I don't really know that many people who use IE 11 and Outlook. I have Firefox and Yahoo! with my e-mail accounts connected to each other.

Remember this when you read news stories about malware attacks that blame users for not making sure their systems are fully updated. Microsoft is partially at fault when they make their users guinea pigs for poorly tested patches, and massively at fault when they release patches that misrepresent what they actually do (e.g. intentionally spy on their users and/or force users to install unnecessary upgrades).
At least the malware authors behaviors are transparent: I know they want to do things that will hurt me. Microsoft is supposed to help their customers/users, yet their actions make it very hard to trust them to do that.

Yes, Microsoft's use of the word "quality" when naming their update roll-ups is becoming increasingly ironic. It's apparent that their quality assurance department ain't what it used to be. As such, AskWoody.com and their MS-DEFCON System is an extremely valuable resource. For example, my employer pushed the faulty updates to my work computer after only a week, and I was hit with a bug (documented on AskWoody.com) that preventing me from renaming folders. I had to call our help desk, who gave the unintuitive, but helpful, advice to run a repair of Microsoft Office to fix the problem. At home, I have exported the following registry keys to restore if the same bug bites me here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FolderDescriptions HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\FolderDescriptions

Woody Leonhard has changed his MS-DEFCON rating to 3 and issued the following advisory: MS-DEFCON 3: Get patched, but watch out for Outlookwww.askwoody.com/2017/ms-defcon-3-get-patched-but-watch-out-for-outlook/I installed 2017-06 Security Monthly Quality for Windows 7 for x64-based systems (KB4022719) today. I had the same problems that occurred when my employer pushed out the security only version to my work computer. The update undid my disabling of libraries, and hit me with the Folder Rename error. I had backed up my folder registry keys in anticipation of the Folder Rename error. However, restoring the keys didn't resolve the issue. So, I did what my employer's Help Desk told me to do - run a repair of Microsoft Office. That did (mostly) resolve the issue. It still tells me "Folder Not Found", but if I click "Try Again" the rename then works. I have no idea what users who don't have Microsoft Office installed are supposed to do.

I had previously disabled libraries on my Windows 7 computer, and discovered this was contributing to the “Folder Not Found” error when I tried to rename folders. This is what I did to fix the problem:
1. Re-enabled Libraries. 2. Re-merged my folder description registry backups 3. Disabled Libraries again.
Now I can rename folders without the error occurring.
