Three years ago, I wrote a piece about comic-book movies and some areas where, in the explosive boom in such productions, they were falling short. Issues included the lack of female-led projects, the need for smaller, more intimate stories that were closer to what has made these characters endure for so long and a need for greater diversity in the adaptations. I've just followed this up with a new one, looking at these same issues and where things stand with them a few years later: cinemarchaeologist.blogspot.com/2017/06/comic-book-movies-what-ails-em-2.html

I haven't seen it yet. Great director and I hear good things about it, despite the atrocious miscasting of the lead.
