It was great. Wonderful acting, perfectly suited story, and amazing angle on the character that we haven't seen yet, just great stuff. The ending was triumphant. I couldn't have thought of a more fitting reason for this character to want to die, and I really felt it. The smallness of the story was everything. It was just Logan, his "daughter", and his "father", and it was beautiful.
However, it wasn't very exciting in the sense that I very much enjoyed watching it, but I don't really feel any need to watch it again.
Now I have to say, the killing of the perfect family, who were total innocents, really set this story off. It was a masterstroke to do that, to have the protagonists befriend them, go through a life experience with them dealing with the shitbag neighbors, and then to have that happen to them, DAMN. I can't imagine what that father was thinking when he came out to kill 24.
And speaking of 24. Totally brilliant. It was perfect. Logan vs Wolverine, just a great choice and made complete sense and needed to happen. I loved it.
So overall, this was exactly what it needed to be. I love that this film exists.

I'm glad you liked it. It's my favorite comic book movie of this year (so far).

Not for now. I could see it being in the discussion, and it's a worthy choice if somebody picks it, but I don't think it makes my top 10. I love a lot of them.
I really appreciate how small scale it is, which is unique really. I love that they pulled that off, but it also gives it sort of a Shindler's List effect. Great film, but do you really need to watch it again? And I tend to put the I've seen it 48 times films up there.

Oh I will definitly watch it again. I absolutely loved it. His journey was completed. From not wanting to have anything to do with the X-men to end up missing them and creating a safe haven for the new generation. They really wrapped up his character well. Credits to Fox for that (wow as a dumb MCU fan I said something positive about another studio). I also loved the lonelyness and pointlessness of his life after the so called Weschester Incident. Taking care of Professor X but thats obviously not sonething he wants to do. Its not in his nature but he forces himself to do it because he owes the man. Its really great. Btw I am still thinking about my ten. Logan is gonna be included. And yet... still Guardians vol. 2 is my favourite CBM of the year.

It really was a perfect way to wrap up 17 years of that character. Nice and personal and yet meaningful to the series.

I can agree with much of what you've said. Logan is a great movie with very little not to like about it. Personally, I thought that the army of mutant, child soldiers was incongruous with the overall tone. And, while I was not jazzed about X-24 at first, I did come to see his death as a metaphorical killing of Wolverine's own violent and tormented past.
Fox proved they could make a great film with Logan (by acknowledging the flamboyant noisiness of their previous entries).
For me, Logan is a natural progression and appropriate conclusion to Fox's very specific interpretation of the Children of the Atom. Ironically, because of Logan, I don't feel like I need to see any more of Fox's future X installments.

it was good but its overrated I don't about that. I heard it was a really solid film and it was. Now anybody saying it's the best film ever, yeah ok that might be a little pushing it, but it's definitely a well made great exploration of that character.

It's been 17 years and their still relating to the same continuity. I think it's ok after this much to have a completely separate run at it.

It's a very good to great movie. The only negatives from me are they could have chosen a better arch villain that wasn't just another Wolverine clone or a scientific suit. Sabertooth would have been a better choice. Im not complaining about Donald Pearce though, he was awesome.
Also I didn't buy into the Wolverine-X23 bond as much as I wanted to. Perhaps because for the first 3rd of the film shes a mute therefore there's no verbal chemistry between the 2 which takes alot away from any character interaction.
Probably put this as the 3rd best X-film behind X2 and DOFP.

I might agree about X23 though.

Haven't seen it yet but the positivity keeps me excited. Just know that it's small scale, and they did that on purpose. It's the smallest scale comic movie I've ever seen.

Its a great movie to never make again. It was good, but it shouldn't be the template from which all future CBMs are made form going forward.
