Thanks for finding that. Yeah. It is true. We pay the most expensive power bills in the world and the biggest joke is experts are saying we shouldn't but we are being ripped off and our Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull and the government always say they are going to do something about it to ease the cost of living on everyday Australians 'cause they know there are people struggling and they feel so sorry for them but the only thing they do is talk about it for a week or two and do nothing and don't talk about it again. They think if they just sweep it under the rug and not discuss it then the problem disappears or it doesn't make them look bad and I wouldn't be surprised if they are getting funded by electrical companies 'cause they are funded by alcohol companies which is why scientists who say bad things about alcohol and politicians who want to put the taxes up on it and have plain packaging like cigarettes are silenced. One of the worst problems here though is the cost of houses in Western Sydney and we should not be paying what people pay for in other countries for mansions for average homes but that is another thing the government said they were going to look into and fix but forgot about while the prices just keep going up all the time.
The Malcolm Turnbull/Tony Abbott Coalition government has been the worst government we have had. The only good thing they have done is legalise Same Sex Marriage but that should have been solved with a conscious vote and not a postal plebiscite that brought up a lot of homophobia and lead to many of us facing hate. While Labor and Bill Shorten are not that much better all they have done is lie through teeth since they got into power and everything they claimed the Labor party were going to do in the lead up to the 2013 election they have done and they constantly attacked the Labor party over the Carbon Tax and how families were struggling to pay it and when they got in they introduced new taxes that are twice the amount the Carbon Tax was and slowly put them up every year. I sadly think the world is full of useless politicians and while we definitely have it better than countries like Indonesia and North Korea none of our countries' leaders have been great nor have their parties been. Instead of choosing the best candidate at elections we are often choosing the lesser of two evils or the one we think is at least more competent than the other but we rarely have good leaders which we should and we need to have higher standards for politicians.
Thanks for letting me know about the music scene in The Philippines. I know of Arnel Pineda in Journey and I really liked their 'Revelation' album and 'Eclipse' wasn't bad either and it is a shame they don't release more albums with him 'cause I think he is the best lead singer they have had since Steve Perry and has been better for the band than Steve Augeri and Jeff Scott Soto. I don't mind Jeff Scott Soto and have a number of his solo albums and albums he appeared on with other bands but I think he was kinda out of place in the group whereas Arnel really seems to fit with his voice and sounds somewhat similar to Steve. He can also sing the hits and hit all the notes Steve Perry could and his version of 'Open Arms' on the CD2 of 'Revelation' was really good. I know of Air Supply and my Aunt loves them and I have seen them in concert with her and they were big here in the 70s and early 80s and had a number of hits on the charts but they are not as popular as they used to be now. A lot of people out here like Classic Acts though which is why we often get a lot of those artists and bands touring here but they are just no longer mainstream.
Wow I had no idea property cost in Australia was that bad. I mean I understand that it's one of the most prosperous countries in the world, but paying mansion amount money for a regular house is ridiculous. When did the cost of housing start to go up? Just wondering, what about the daily cost of living, i.e. food, drink, gas, going to the dentist, clothing, stuff like that? Here in the Philippines inflation has gone up sharply since the gov't implemented tax reforms - sounds familiar right? - to collect money for infrastructure projects. The goal is l audible but people are feeling the pinch. I did not know there was lobbying and funding by big companies to politicians in Australia. Here the biggest corporate lobbying is done by the oil companies who want to keep prices high. Also our Internet service is being controlled by two companies who force people to pay obscene amounts to get a decent bandwidth. Pineda is good, but I actually prefer Steve Perry. His rendition of Open Arms and Separate Ways among others, are exceptional. Honestly I'm amazed how much you know about music and the way you rattle off band names and albums. When did you get into this, like buying albums and following news and stuff about bands and artists? Yeah. It is really bad and it is surprising how much the cost of living has gone up here in Australia and it wasn’t always like this here and the rise in prices of houses is something that has only skyrocketed in the past 10-15 years and when we got our house it was a lot cheaper than it is worth now and our house is now worth twice the price it was worth when we first bought it. This is our second house by the way and we moved ‘cause we not only wanted a bigger house with more rooms but the area we were living in was becoming a cesspool of crime and there were people getting their houses broken into, cars stolen, property damaged and attacked by gangs when they went outside in the night and I didn’t feel safe there so we moved and I love where we live now ‘cause we are in walking distance of my Sister’s house and the shops and we have a low level of crime in our street and everyone is really friendly.
It was when they introduced the Carbon Tax a lot of things started going up and we saw the prices of essential things like food, drinks, clothes, fridges, microwaves, toasters, perfume, tissues, shampoos, Panadol, tampons, kitchen utensils, furniture, pillows, makeup, stationary, towels etc go up a lot and things start to shrink in size and the current government who was the opposition at the time went on and on about how hard it was for everyday Australians and if they were elected they would scrap the tax and make it easier for everybody and the Carbon Tax was axed but the Coalition brought in more expensive taxes and everything is far more expensive now than it was when we had the Carbon Tax 'cause they never cared about the effects it was having on the people and only wanted to use the money for something else - probably on themselves. If you want to hear something ridiculous we have one of the most sexist taxes in the world and have to pay taxes on tampons and the tampon tax was introduced back in 1999 by male dominated cabinet that were incredibly sexist at the time and there is no excuse why it still exists now and the Labor party have announced they will axe the tax if the win the next election but the current government claim they can't get rid of it 'cause they make too much money on it.
There is lobbying and funding in politics here in Australia and there has been a lot of corruption in our New South Wales State Government over the past decade with politicians being arrested and others quitting before they were exposed. We have two major companies for the internet with Telstra and Optus but there are also a lot of smaller companies like Dodo and TPG and we have deals through companies like Telstra where you can get your phone, Foxtel and Internet all in one big cheap bundle but the internet hasn't been the same here since they introduced the NBN and the NBN causes us to get a lot of dropouts and slow speeds at certain times of the day. With music I guess I have been this way since I was a teenager and I grew up listening to a lot of different artists and bands and I always loved music and used to sing a lot when I was a kid. I taught myself how to play guitar and piano and my sister bought me my first acoustic guitar for one of my birthdays and I never put it down and I still have that guitar now. I write my own songs and I used to be the lead singer of a band and we got to play support act for some famous acts but I gave it up for a number of reasons.

We have Tim Tams here in Australia too hardball and they are very popular here and have been available in a wide variety of flavours over the years like dark, white, strawberry, chewy caramel, choc mint, red velvet, banana, coffee, mocha, Turkish delight, toffee apple, honeycomb, cherry, raspberry, wildberry, coconut, peanut butter, choc orange, lemon, iced coffee etc and at one point it was like they were releasing new flavours every month but they have slowed down with them recently. My favourite is the choc mint flavour and I liked the toffee apple and Turkish delight flavours too and I didn't think I would like the toffee apple ones that much but was pleasantly surprised and wish they had kept them around. The only one I didn't like was peanut butter which was surprising 'cause I love Reece's chocolate and choc peanut butter chocolates but I didn't like the taste of it at all and was very disappointed. We have the same problem here with the Toblerones and every year Cadbury chocolate blocks are shrinking and first they got rid of some of the squares then they made the squares smaller and smaller and the blocks get thinner all the time. Do you like Ferrero Rocher? I love Ferrero and so does my mom. I like the multiple layers and different textures especially the cool, soft section that tastes like ice cream. I had no idea Tim Tam had that many flavors as I'm only familiar with chocolate and toffee, and I can't even recall seeing the others you mentioned here. I just had Cadbury chocolate here and haven't noticed any changes in size, but I suppose it's just a matter of time. BTW do you have Frito Lay seaweed flavor in Australia? I just saw them in the store a few days ago but haven't tried it yet. Tim Tam has had a LOT of different flavours here over the years and some of them have been quite bizarre as Chalice pointed out on the page before but I imagine some people must have liked them or they would have never sold them. I have been surprised over the taste of some of the stranger flavours I have tasted like the Toffee Apple one but others have tasted horrible. One of the weirdest chocolates we had here a few years ago was the Cadbury Vegemite block and it actually tasted okay on the first bite but then after the taste settled in I wanted to vomit. and that was the first time I have thrown a block of Cadbury chocolate in the bin. I think we get more flavours of Tim Tams than anywhere else in the world 'cause they are an Australian biscuit made by an Australian company (Arnott's) and some flavours have come and gone but others have become permanent. I love Ferrero Rocher and we have them in a few different flavours here but my favourite thing Ferrero make is Nutella and I am not sure why they don't release a Nutella block or bar 'cause it would be very popular but a lot of people don't know the Ferrero that make Ferrero Rocher is the same company that make Nutella.
No. To my knowledge we don't have those Seeweed chips here and I don't think I could bring myself to eat something like that but we did have Lay's here years ago and they were fairly popular. At one point they owned Thins and they called them Lay's Thins but then Thins went back to being Thins and Lay's disappeared from most shops. We used to have a lot of different chips here and Ruffles and Samboy were popular and come in a lot of different flavours but I heard Smith's drove them away by threatening to pull their products from Coles and Woolworths if they kept selling them.

Tim Tams have indeed branched out with their flavours - to such an extent that there's some really bizarre ones I've seen that I can't image anyone being overly fond of (then again, there probably are some people who'd find them appealing). Seaweed chips? I couldn't even manage the seaweed part of sushi when we made it at school (I just ate the rice part). Too salty for me - which is odd, considering I tend to put salt on a lot of things (though I know I probably shouldn't). Only mistook salt for sugar the once, though (used it on my cereal), when I was very young. As for the last thing I ate...it was the same thing that Naomi Watts chooses over going on a date with Tom Cruise (can't say I blame her, though) in this commercial: Wow. I just wanted to say that is an old video Chalice and I am surprised you remembered it. I don't remember it and that must have been around the time Naomi was still acting here in Australia and was in 'Neighbours' before she went over to America and made 'Gross Misconduct' and 'Children of the Corn 4.'

Well you did say your current location is safer so I guess it's a case to case basis when it comes to safety. What are those gangs anyway, juvenile deliquents? Does Australia have a 911 hotline equivalent? LOL I had to laugh when you said prices when up and things started to shrink in size. That's kind of like how it is here. Prices of food go up and the food portions get smaller, the drinks less tastier as they reduce the ingredients and quality of products just take a dip. And that tampon tax is ridiculous, I've never heard anything like that before. Government corruption is also news to me. I've always thought the reason Australia continues to prosper is lack of corruption. I guess it has more to do with people working hard in spite of corruption in the government. We also have two Internet companies in the Philippines, Globe and PLDT, and they control the Net speed and how much consumers pay. Telstra tried to partner with another company here a couple of years ago and be the third Internet service provider, but the politicians - thru lobbying by PLDT and Globe - blocked their access and Telstra withdrew. Even though Australia is a first world country and the Philippines is still developing, they do face some common issues, though problems are on a larger scale here. So you don't just listen to music but a guitarist, pianist and singer songwriter too. Impressive. I tried playing the guitar when I was a kid. My dad plays the guitar well and so does my uncle, but I just couldn't do it lol. When my fingers hurt from strumming I just quit. Haven't touched a guitar in 25 years I think lol. Just curious, which came first, your passion for music or comics?

And yeah I can't imagine that being good with chocolate. Yes I remember Nutella now, it's a spread. Kinda expensive here but really really good. Didn't know they were made by Ferrero though. I tried the Frito Lay's seaweed flavor, and it's an acquired taste at best. Salty and yeah, probably not something you'll like.

Just curious, which came first, your passion for music or comics? Yeah. Sadly we have gangs, burglary, carjacking etc here in Australia too and it all depends on what area you live in and some areas have a reputation for being violent and Kings Cross used to be one of the worst areas in Australia for violence and a lot of my friends knew people who had been robbed and beaten down by gangs going there and I would never suggest going to the train stations late at night. Some of those are dangerous and there are guys that have been randomly attacked there coming off the train and women who have been raped in parks not far away. The area we used to live in wasn't that bad before but like other areas in Australia it has changed in the past decade thanks to the scum living there and it is sad seeing areas that used to be known as great places to live go down the toilet 'cause of people ruining it for others. There are some streets people live in where they are afraid of going out the door 'cause they are worried about being attacked by gangs and I know some people who have been randomly attacked outside of clubs late at night by gangs with sticks and my Brother In Law’s cousin was assaulted and robbed by 5 guys one night outside of his local club for no reason and he had to be taken to hospital.
People of different colour and cultures are known to get attacked at football games quite often in some places and while it is not as bad as it used to be it still happens and it is usually when the people are drunk and they will start making racist comments directed at Aborigines and Asians which will turn into fights and their friends will gang up on them. There are also some drunken morons that go to football games just looking to get into fights with anybody to show off their manliness but when they target a person they always do it in groups and look like a bunch of cowards. Do you have gatecrashers where you live 'cause we have them here and there were a few people that made news headlines for gatecrashing parties and causing fights and it used to happen a lot where I grew up on Australia Day and people would get drunk then go around the streets looking for barbecues and parties to gatecrash and cause fights with other people and they gave us all a bad reputation for Australia Day. The majority of them were Bogans and Yobbos and if you don't know what Bogans and Yobbos are they are very similar to the rednecks in America most of them are overweight, ugly, missing teeth, have bad hygiene, are poorly educated and wear blue singlets and they are sexist, racist and homophobic loudmouths that nobody likes. If there is one thing they hate more than anything else it is Asians and they will target Asians in public areas with racist abuse telling them to speak in English or go back to their own country.
Things shrinking here especially foods has been a problem for the last 15 years and it is really annoying when they introduce mini sizes and want you to pay more for them than the standard size and a decade later the mini size is the standard size and is more expensive. Food keeps shrinking all the time and getting more expensive and the companies think we are stupid and don't notice it and some claim that it is for health reasons which is an absolute load of rubbish or they wouldn't be doubling the prices with it and making health foods so much more expensive than junk foods. I mean my Uncle has been complaining about toilet paper shrinking again lately and that is just a joke. They haven't reduced the ingredients or quality of the products here yet but that is probably next and the only times they have changed the sizes back is when people complain about it and it makes it on the news headlines and on front of popular web sites and they shrunk Pringles not look ago and a lot of people complained and it got on the news and the company decided to go back to the regular size 'cause they were worried people would stop buying them. I think we are the only country that has the tampon tax and I might be wrong but I know a lot of other countries don't have it and it is stupid and sexist that we do.
I think you will find there is corruption in politics all over the world but some countries and states have it worse than others and none of us have great governments and we just vote for what party we believe is the lesser of evils not what party is best to represent our country. As much as I dislike the Coalition I am happy we have Malcolm Turnbull over Donald Trump but there are some politicians here that are just as bad (if not worse) than Donald Trump like Corey Bernadi who is a sexist and homophobic moron and a rape apologist who backed a man not long ago that said men should be allowed to rape women on their property 'cause they are on their property.

I'm sorry to hear what you and your family had to experience. Here most of the crimes are poverty related. There are also very, very few homophobic, sexist or racist crimes committed. While we do have absurd censorship on local TV (cable is not covered) and same sex marriage is not allowed, LGBT rarely get discriminated at work or ridiculed in public. This survey says the Philippines has the second highest acceptance of LGBT in Asia next only to Australia, and 10th in the world. I have to agree. www.pewglobal.org/2013/06/04/the-global-divide-on-homosexuality/While same sex marriage is not allowed yet, LGBT are accepted - or tolerated, depending on your POV - socially. There are exceptions, but overall gays are safe and accepted here. Even if a teenager were to confess he/she was gay, they will not be disowned by their family. That concept is alien to most Filipinos, as is the idea of sending parents to a retirement home. Here children, even when married and have their family, take care of their parents. Either they live with them or have a relative take care of them. There is a lot of room for improvement though. We don't have gate crashers here thankfully, but there are drug addicts who kill, rape, steal etc. We don't have rowdy football fans because football isn't popular in the Philippines. The most popular sport here is basketball, and you'll see kids and adults playing hoops everywhere. There are no hate crimes committed against foreigners, but they are the target of robbery, i.e. some morons here automatically think foreigners = lots of money. LOL oh wow I laughed when you said they shrunk Pringles and were forced to bring it back to original size. It hasn't happened here so I will count my blessings lololol. Oh, I remember reading some idiot say legalizing same sex marriages would encourage bestiality, and it was Bernadi. Yeah he is an asshole. It reminds me of a Philippine politician who said women should stop complaining about being raped and that they should just enjoy it.

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you on this. It was my birthday on Tuesday and my Wifey and I both had the day off work for it and I spent the last 2 days working so I haven’t had time to write and reply to any posts on here until now. We also have a brand new member of our family and her name is Stephanie and she is a brown spotted Australian Mist pussycat and is adorable to say the least and she is lying in the room with me now and is asleep. I got her for my birthday but belongs to both of us and we love her and we now have two cats, two dogs, two rabbits, a pig, a parrot and fish and we also have my horse that lives on my Aunt and Uncle's farm with their horses. I think it is going to be some time before we get any other pets 'cause we have a lot now and my Uncle and some of our friends were already saying before it is like we are living in a zoo but we love animals and our pets are our babies. We have no plans to have children so we have them instead and while it might sound like hard work to some people I know from my Sister who has three kids having children is harder than having pets and comes with a lot of responsibility.
Sadly, we do have crime here and it all depends on the areas you live in as I mentioned above but some areas have really gone down the toilet thanks to gangs and other morons who make it unsafe for people to walk around alone and what is really disturbing is the ages of some of these people committing crimes like one rapist not far away from our area that was arrested recently was only 16 years old and a 12 year old boy was arrested for raping young girls and forcing them to play out scenes he saw in porn movies. We had a serial flasher not long ago that was exposing himself in broad daylight and he was following women home from shops and parks and waiting until he was alone with them and exposing himself and he had apparently been doing it in South Australia too which is where he came from and the police there let him off with a warning so he came over to New South Wales and started doing it around here. Then we have some very sick perverts that take upskirt photos of us and set up cameras in places to watch us and there was one who had a camera in the toilets of one of the shopping centres we go to and he was filming us going to the toilet and watching for some sick type of thrill.
Homophobic crimes have gone down here a lot in the past thirty years and we don't face as much bullying and discrimination now as we used to but it was pretty bad here when I was a teenager and I faced bullying from some girls in High School and University and I had girls kiss me at parties only to push me away when their friends saw us and told me "get away from me you dyke" and called me other names like freak and lesbo slut. I found some of the best ways to get homophobic girls back was by dating guys they had crushes on and it really annoyed them that they liked me more than them and by pretending I had the hots for them and there was one girl I went to Uni with and she was a real homophobic bitch who called me a dyke and lesbo slut all the time so I started pretending I was attracted to her and do all these things that really freaked her out and she stopped after that. A lot of my gay male friends faced bullying and they got bashed up by other students on a daily basis for being openly gay and then there were other guys I knew that weren't gay that got beat up for being suspected of being gay. My friends and I have known gay males that have taken their own lives before they turned 20 'cause they couldn't handle the bullying they were facing for being openly gay and it was really sad.
Things have changed a lot since then though and some of us still do face bullying and discrimination especially online from faceless scumbag cowards who hide behind the anonymity of their computers to do it and I have been bullied more online for being open about my sexuality than I have been in real life and got a few abusive private messages on the old IMDB Boards from homophobes. Same Sex Marriage being legalised here recently was a big victory for all of us and I am sure it will become legal in your country too in time but the Postal Plebiscite we had for it brought up a lot of homophobia last year and was really bad and we had all the morons claiming it would encourage bestiality, incest, polygamous relationships and even embolden pedophiles and some of them were hanging up signs that said 'Stop the Fags' with all these false statistics of child abuse for children with LGBT parents. They tried to make it all about the children too even though we already had the rights to adopt and all their crap failed and the sky hasn't fallen like they claimed and a few people who opposed Same Sex Marriage before have had a change of heart and support us now 'cause they see all the hate the bigots were saying was nothing but fear tactics. A lot of the homophobes who claimed they were going to get divorced or move to another country if Same Sex Marriage become legalised 'cause it would make marriage meaningless didn't follow through with their threats either and refused to comment when journalists called them out on it later.

Hey belated happy birthday and hope you had a good one! I've got 2 cats indoors and 9 more outdoors and about 15 or so more strays who drop by to eat and drink. They consume a lot of cat food and I have to break up fights every now and then, but there's no way I can turn them away. I neuter as many as we can so they don't run away again. All the cats I have, including the indoor ones, were strays that just wandered inside our home. The others just like to go off on their own but I make sure there's catfood and drinks outside all the time so when they drop they won't go hungry. I'm having the same thoughts about kids. My sister has two kids and based on her experiences - and my own parents' - yeah, raising kids is a tough job, and we're not gonna get paid for it lol. Maybe I'll change my mind one day if the right one comes along, but I'm all right not having kids and being single. Life is challenging enough as it is. About those sickos and pervs, we have a few of those here as well unfortunately. I heard some of those creeps do that stuff so they can post it online and charge people to see it. That thing about those 16 and 12 year olds is depressing and it happens here occasionally too. I'm sorry to hear you had to go through all of that as a teenager, but as they say, anything that does not kill you makes you stronger. By standing up to bullying and not allowing people to push you around, you develop the self confidence necessary to face the challenges of daily living. And opening up about your sexuality - in real life and online - was absolutely the right thing to do. Our gender and sexual preference is our business and we don't need approval from anyone, not our parents, friends, co-workers and most certainly not anonymous cowards online.

Our gender and sexual preference is our business and we don't need approval from anyone, not our parents, friends, co-workers and most certainly not anonymous cowards online. Thanks hardball. I did have a wonderful birthday last week and even though we didn’t go away for it like we have some previous years I still had a great time and my Wifey spoiled me and got me lots of presents and a Strawberry Fields cake from the Cheesecake Shop which is one of my favourite cakes and I don’t know if you have them over in your country but I will post a photo of one of them below so you can see what they look like. After Beccy brought Stephanie home we spent most of the day playing with her and just watching her and she is so cute and we already love her to pieces and what surprises me the most is how well behaved she is and she has got into some mischief since we got her and some nights she “moaws” (not meows ) until we got out to her and doesn’t like it when we are sitting at the table having dinner without her but she has been a good girl for the most part.
We had my family over for my birthday and they stayed for dinner and we had Chinese and got a lot of prawns and Beccy and I are vegetarians but we do eat some seafood like prawns, fish, crab sticks, seafood extender and calamari rings and I love prawn toast and prawn chips and Beccy loves honey prawns and they have all of that and more at our local Chinese Restaurant. Wow. You have a LOT of cats where you live and we have had some stray cats in our streets but we don’t feed them or go near them ‘cause they sound savage and they will come in our front yard late at night and have these huge fights and we will be lying in bed asleep or half asleep and suddenly there will be this "RRRAAAAARRRR" and it scares the absolute shit out of you. We don't have them as much as we used to and it has been a while since we have last heard them outside but I wouldn't go out near them 'cause I would be worried they would attack me or something 'cause they don't sound friendly like Stephanie and Vulpix but they are better than panthers and we had a black panther that was seen around our area a few years ago and I would run inside if I saw on of those.
Yeah. Having children is a lot of hard work and they are something you should seriously think about before having them but if know that if you decide not to have them you are not alone and there are couples nowadays that don't have children. We did think about having children at one point and my sister was willing to have a baby for us but as much as we love children we come to the conclusion we did not want to be Mum's and we are happy with it being just the two of us and our pets. We have my nieces and nephew too and we often have my youngest niece coming here to stay with us and she sleeps over and we take her to a lot of fun places and have a great time but I prefer being an Aunt than a Mum. I am not a big fan of babies either with all the crying and changing their dirty nappies and babies are a whole different story and the things my Sister had to do with my nieces and nephew when they were babies used to freak me out and had me wanting to throw up some days.
It appears there are sickos all over the world and I don't know why but have to take the bad with the good and I have heard about what they do with the photos and videos online and there was one guy who ran a motel here that had a video camera set up inside the rooms and he was filming all of these couples having sex and watching them and uploading the videos online too and he was thankfully arrested after one couple discovered a little camera he had hidden in the room. I blame a lot of the sex crimes being committed by children on the easy access they have to porn on the internet and while I support porn and considered a career in it when I was younger I don't think children that young should be watching it 'cause it gives them a very warped and twisted view of sex 'cause they are too young to understand it. We can say it is all the parents fault and parents should be teaching them right from wrong but sadly in a lot of cases these children have parents who just throw them in front of a TV screen or computer and don't care what they are doing half the time. Thanks for the kind words and our sexuality is our own business and we don't need anybody's acceptance or approval of it especially homophobic morons online but there are people online who want to control everybody and if it is not our sexuality they are whinging over it is how many sexual partners we have had but there is a double standard with the latter.
