*SPOILERS AHEAD*
It was cool seeing Arnold back in action. I had no issue with any of the acting, BUT, John Connor is the bad guy? Really?! I feel so betrayed.

The fact that they revealed everything in the trailer lessen the dissapointment.

Since James Cameron wasn't remotely involved with it , I didn't have any expectations for this shit fest . 4/10

No. It's one of the more misguided blockbuster movies in some time though.

Terminator Genisys was so much better than I expected--After seeing the trailers I went ughhh--but it then turned out to be the best surprise of the year for me--and the lead actress was hot!--The movie was a hit, grossing $450 million around the world--It was a big hit especially in China

I just hated the premise. Seeing Arnold was great, and yeah, he is still a bad ass at almost 70. What they did with the story was disappoints (IMO).

Not the worst movie ever, but definitely of 2015. I also rank it second-to-last near Salvation on the bottom.
Most people are correct; the trailers/teasers gave away too much information. I feel as though some of the actors, such as Emilia and Jai, were miscast. Arnold seemed a bit too old playing a Terminator. They made up for it by having him age. Didn't like John Connor being a bad guy and a Terminator himself. The dialogue was cheesy. The ending was all sorts of stupid.
I knew James Cameron wasn't involved yet again, so I didn't have high expectations.

I really hope they retcon John being bad. That was an awful thing to do. Also why the hell was this movie promoting the shit out of Matt smith? He was barely in it and even when he was he was annoying. Kinda like he was in Doctor who.

I only saw the CinemaSins video on it, but the clips were so bad that I couldn't even watch the whole video.

i liked it better than the other two sequels before it. i guess i liked the cast a little better. i'm not a huge fan of the john connor but he was playing a creepy robot version of jc so it kinds worked. really i'm a huge fan of terminator 84 and think the sequel from 91 is the only one really needed. this was just a fun what if movie.

I'll give the movie this, it did have one interesting idea but it's an afterthought in the movie. The Terminator raising Sarah Connor since she was little. That's kind of awesome but I guess it's not 'cinematic' enough.

I actually liked the premise, at least the altered 1984 idea. Once they build a time machine and go back to the future (wut) it flies off the rails.

I also thought seeing him get after his younger self was pretty cool.

definitely not, especially because like already mentioned i doubt people really expected much from it as it seems T1/T2 get all of the praise and after that it seems, based on general wide opinion, the series fell off.
but for me personally... i honestly enjoy watching T5 movie more than T2 now as i rank the Terminator movies like this...
1.T1 - 8.5-9/10 (within my Top 27 movies) 2.T3 - 8/10 (within my Top 59 movies) 3.T5 - 6-6.5/10 (within my Top 246 movies) 4.T2 - 6/10 5.T4 - 5/10 (Thumbs Down)
T2 used to be a 10/10 for me but i simply don't enjoy it to any higher degree anymore. Edward Furlong is not helping it to say the least.

I wasn't disappointed at all because it looked like crap from the trailer and the franchise should have ended after T2.
I wasn't really on board with an elderly Terminator either. It reeked of desperation.
The movie is a tad worse than I expected it to be though.
1. Terminator 2: Judgment Day - 10/10 An action masterpiece 2. The Terminator - 8.5/10 3. Terminator Salvation - 7/10 Yes, I am a fan. It's like Terminator crossed with Mad Max and I am cool with that.
4. Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines - 5.5/10 A mediocre rehash of the first two and it borders on self parody, specifically the ridiculous cameo by Dr. Silberman. 5. Terminator Genisys - 4.5/10

It started out well and I'd favour it over Terminator 3 and Salvation, but it was extremely convoluted from a narrative perspective and suffered from poor casting choices and dull CGI-laden SFX. Far too much tongue-in-cheek use of dialogue from the older films as well.
That said - I still disagree with your statement, OP. It's not even the most disappointing film of 2015. That honour goes to Jurassic World IMO.

Didn't James Cameron like "TERMINATOR: GENISYS" ?
