Nice interview. Thanks for posting it. I met him once at a Theater Sports Team softball game.
I left him alone but HE smiled and said Hi as he passed. Kinda cool !
Did you know that he was also on The Mary Tyler Moore show as Gordy, the Weatherman ? (only 14 episodes) .

It was after Good Times. He was not a big part of the show, mostly one of the guys in the office who said something "smart" about Ted. Here's his whole filmography. He as in more things than I was aware of. John Amos - Link Norman Lear firing him that way , with a good news / bad news jokiness, seemed pretty tacky and unprofessional. AND over the phone too.
