Why do some consider this guy to be a hero in a way? he hates the way society is and he hates political correctness and males losing their masculinary he considered as a middle finger to society and lives by his own rules and ways of life? He has that "I don't give a fuck" attitude and all?
Or he is an egostical gelled haired smoking psycho overgrown juvenile delinquent of a bully?

People fantasize about being a badass. They want to be one so badly because society forces them to get in line. Which is why characters like Tyler Durden are so popular in film. And this is why Tarantino is so popular. He creates characters people desperately wish they could be. But do you consider him a hero and a middle finger to society and political correctness?

Tyler Durden is supposed to represent the alpha male inside every man. Good, bad, the whole package. He becomes a hero to the main character who has been "beat down" into a beta male. Yet the story shows that the Alpha can go very wrong as well. It IS very much a "flipping of the bird" to modern society which has focused on draining all the testosterone out of today's males.

He's just a caricature and demonization of white males which Hollywood has been doing for ages (one could argue they have done it since the 30s albeit in subtle ways).
Even the fact that it is the blonde guy who gets horribly disfigured isn't an accident.
Hateful sickos run Hollywood studios.

As a movie character, I admire Tyler.
As a real human being, I would despise him.

He is a hypocrite. He rejects the image of masculinity that mainstream society tries to force upon us, yet embodies that very image. He prides himself on being a rebel, yet proves himself to be a tyrant.

What do you think of when he blew up credit card buildings and psychologist buildings so people would be free of psychologists and debts? do you think his ideas are juvenile and total bullshit?

So he is like a living political cartoon right? I am sure the big newspapers employ cartoonists that also tow the same line. Even the comics did it. Like when they killed Spider-man's girlfriend for no logical reason. It is white male failure across the board. The only exceptions are some foreign film companies (the Roger Moore film The Man Who Haunted Himself is a good example-since it does not end like a typical Hollywood film of the era would--the character redeems himself). Such messages are rare today unless the character is the foreigner/beta type. Those characters can succeed. But the closer you get to a traditional alpha male--forget it. Disney even rewrote its wiki for the Legend of Sleepy Hollow to characterize Brom Bones as the villain-when that is not true of the original cartoon (or the Irving story).

Tyler Durden is a caricature of an alpha white male who is non neurotic, assertive, happy. Sort of an Errol Flynn but demonized.
The media owners cannot erase Aryan cultural norms--thus the alpha type male figure remains a positive.
Look what happened with Conan when Marvel introduced him in 1970--became hugely popular. Ditto when Doctor Who replaced the grandfatherly types with younger assertive Tom Baker--the most popular incarnation.
Westerners (men and women) are drawn to that type of personality even when attempting to demonize or parody them.
But the studio owners come out of a different heritage and they regard those types with contempt. They would rather people accept a Shia Labouef or Mark Wahlberg as their role model. lol You cant override biology and over 2000 years of western art norms.

Mark Wahlberg doesn't qualify as an alpha male?

Mark Wahlberg doesn't qualify as an alpha male? No he's not intense enough I would say. He's like a poor man's Brad Pitt.
