Oh I don't know. It's still more interesting than majority of the CW superhero shows.

Not to be a prick, but I think it's odd that the people who insist it's still a good show can't be bothered to type more than one short, nondescript sentence about it.

I'm willing to write paragraphs about what makes it a good show but why should I? The haters don't even bother watching more than the first few episodes so majority of what I say won't register with them anyway. Besides, it's not like we're under attack that we need to write a lengthy defense for the show.

I was hoping people on this board would let me know if anything interesting actually happens this season, but the most I get is, "I really liked Rewind." How good can it be if that's the most anyone can say about it? For my money Ghost Rider was as good as this show has ever been. There have been individual episodes that were enjoyable (Fitz rescuing Simmons from Hive's planet is one of the best for sure) and Mac is probably my favorite character, but the show just goes in circles every season. I don't know which was the dumber overarching plotline over the years, 'The Real SHIELD' or the Framework. And just when I thought the stakes couldn't get any lower than the Framework, the next season they move into space in an alternate future. That was enough for me. Anyway I should've kept that comment to myself. I'm not looking to start a fight, good for you if you're still enjoying it. I'm still DVRing it so I can watch the episode that ties into IW (if there is one). The internet will keep me informed one way or another.

He didn't revolutionize tv or anything but he was more fun than most of the characters. Maybe I liked the idea of him being on the show more than the actual portrayal. I'd love to see a Netflix Ghost Rider show.

AoS doesn't have a weekly villain to fight, so there's no immediate closure to their weekly episodes. That makes a lot of their storylines a slow burn that takes a while to hook you in. I think this is the main difference between us and why you seem to not be liking AoS at the moment. You seem to be looking for examples of specific strong episodes, whereas I'm more interested in the overall storyline. Also, every show will have weak episodes here and there. For those shows with weekly villains and weekly storylines, usually a weak episode is isolated to that particular episode, whereas for something like AoS a weak episode usually translates to a weak storyline that can last for a number of episodes. So far this season hasn't been as strong as the last ones but it's definitely not weak, at least not if you compare it to other superhero shows out there now. There are 3 things that AoS does that puts it a step above majority of other superhero shows out there (at least in my opinion). 1. The ballsiest storylines - from going to another planet to the LMD's to the alter reality of the framework to time-travelling to a post apocalyptic future to making one of their primary leads into the main villain... I don't recall any other superhero show with such crazy plots and storylines. And they're mostly done well and delved deeply into. It's not like they just cross dimensions for an episode or two then come back and everything is alright (Flash I'm looking at you) and they're all done pretty differently from each other... so not sure why you think they're circular. 2. The most consistently best fight scenes - Arrow started off with great fight scenes and then eventually devolved into dancing in the dark, and the same can be said for the rest of the CW shows. The Marvel Netflix shows have some hard hitting action but are mostly pretty unimaginative with the exception of Daredevil. Even in Daredevil, the action scenes are widely inconsistent. You have some great ones like the hallway fight but a lot of them (see first few episodes) are pretty weak. I don't even want to get into Gotham. AoS in comparison, has had pretty consistent good action. Some are great (Daisy vs. LMD's for example) but even their weakest fight scenes (see latest episodes vs. Kree) are still done better than majority of the other superhero shows. 3. Everyone on the show gets proper development - there is no single lead character here. Everyone gets developed, everyone gets their time to shine, everyone gets decent back story, in short everyone gets to be a meaty character. And in the end, this makes for a much stronger team dynamic, unlike other teams where you have simple cardboard characters wearing costumes (*cough*legends of tomorrow*cough*). It should also be noted that this show probably has the most diverse cast of leads. Not that it matters much to me but some people make a big deal out of it. I should also note that I like that the tone of the show is both dark and not dark. It's not as dark the the Marvel Netflix shows but it's nowhere near as fluffy as the CW shows. It has a decent amount humor mixed in with a surprising amount of heavy topics. I mean, if it's not your cup of tea then no worries. I can respect your opinion. But, you wanted a long detailed listing of why I liked it so there you go.

Season 2 had some amazing ones with the Punisher. Oh I don't deny that Daredevil has some great fight scenes, my problem is that it's not consistent. For every great fight in Daredevil you'll have another fight in extremely dark lighting where you can't really see what's going on except for dancing shadows. There are also a lot of fights where, although they're beautifully choreographed, seem to lack impact. I mean, the hits seem to lack oomph, and you'll notice Daredevil delivering multiple hits that should already have incapacitated his opponents over and over. This is quite a bit noticeable in the first season though they did seem to lessen in the 2nd season. It's not too common, but it's common enough that the fight scenes are inconsistent. Like I said, for every great fight scene in Daredevil, there's one that's just meh. And while AoS also gets a generic fight scene here and there it isn't as common. For the most part, majority of their fight scenes are well choreographed, decently visible and has pretty high energy. It obviously doesn't have the kind of brutality that the DD fight scenes have but it would be unfair to judge them based on that.

I still really enjoy the show. It does not get stale. They always bring it in new directions and completely revamp it without losing its charm while still sticking to each character's personality. I feel like the show is more conducive to binge watching. I just binged watched all of the current season up until this point. I feel the show is not the same watching week to week.

Apparently the last episode of season 5 was written to bring closure to the show in case ABC doesn't pick it up for another season.
