They could sue you for saying anything you have said on IMDb if you delete your account they can not as their ownership of the now deleted account/reviews dont exist any more!

Just gonna say one thing - Punctuation
No matter what you posted at IMDb you are the owner of that content, you gave IMDb a licence to use it

I think the same goes for this site-
P/free-boards owns our content but saying that, they must be watching with extreme interest as this board starts to rise to the top of their forum stats- it's must be a total w**dream for them that IMDB has burned down a board system that took twenty-odd years to cultivate and invest in and they get the traffic for free, overnight.
I am not worried about server space, they would probable add '10' new ones if it came to that-LOL.

Remember the Administer telling us something about this two weeks or so ago when this site first started. This is usually true on free-sites unless you pay to reserve copy-right or something...Is there a Corporate lawyer on the Board?

well since imdb deleted the boards without archiving, the content no longer exists regardless of who "owned" it...

I quite sure that all of those rare and stimulating conversations that were to be found on Film General have been preserved by some advanced alien race to teach their children.

Everything has been saved by beings that are superior in technology, yes. They also see how stupid people like Needham are and I'm sure, shake their heads. Also look into Akashic records, aka the Book of Life. Everything is preserved. All deeds evil and good. If you repent personally of something evil, that would be erased, but otherwise...you get the idea. Nothing is lost and that does mean that anything physical can be restored as well. It's a hell of a technology.

well since imdb deleted the boards without archiving, the content no longer exists regardless of who "owned" it... I'd sure love to see the reaction of those IMDb staffers and owners when they find out just how little their power is and what they think they own in the grand scheme of the universe. Arrogance in them knows no bounds but the reality is, they will be bound. Quite much. And they will be powerless to stop what's coming to them.

You say "they can sue." Sure. Anybody can sue. All you have to do is pick up the forms at the court house, fill them out, and return them. You've just sued somebody.
Of course that doesn't mean that the suit will go any farther. It probably won't get pass the first review and the person being sued will not know anything about it. Having the ability to sue means nothing.
Having said that, I have already reused material that I posted on the IMDb message boards and I will continue to use it when appropriate. If the IMDb wants to come after me, if they want a piece of me, let 'em come on. I am waiting.

Imdb was doing a lot of things that they shouldn't have done with our privacy and posts but neglected other things which should have had more priority.

Anything you say it's always yours, you give licence to the site you say it on to use No (For starters you didnt say it) but that doesnt matter the tos says you give them exclusive rights to anything you write on there. The lic which you assume is what alot of sites say in tos, but its not what imdb tos says.
