I'm happy to make the first post for this film.
I became a star wars fan last year, where I binged watched all 6 episodes, in order to watch the force awakens in the cinema. At that point I started learning information and reading comments about the films and I was stunned. I never got the hate for the prequels and especially episode 3.
I think it is eaily the best of the prequels, and my personal favourite of the saga. The transformation from Anakin to Vader finally reaches to a conclusion, we see people we first met as members of the rebellion, and now we knw how they were connected to each other, thus forming the tragedy, and we see one of the best fights (if THE best) in the Star Wars universe.
The dialogue is better at some points in comparison to episode 2 and the acting is the best by far we had seen, up until The Force Awakens. Meaning, In the entire saga actors like Harisson Ford, Liam Neeson, Samuel Jackson, NAtalie Portman etc were dry and it obvious they were struggling with their lines. However, in episode 3 Ewan mcGregor steals every scene he is in and Hayden Christensen is showing acting chops in all the scenes he has no dialogue.
The music is superb, and asfo the CGI, it might has dated a little, but let's not forget that it was a time where everyone wanted to make it evrything CGI and reduce the practical effects.
I only wish more people could get out of this film as much as I do.

It's certainly the best of the prequel trilogy.
All the boring and stupid political talk is left behind.
My biggest gripe is that Count Dooku dies too early and quickly. General Grievous looks cool but it's hard to care about him at all with his out of the blue introduction.

You have to watch The Clone Wars in order to understand who he really is and what's the story and importance of his defeat. However, as you said, it's cool that we get to see Obi-Wan fight.

I rank it as the worst of all the Star Wars films. But, to each their own....

I rank it as the worst of all the Star Wars films. But, to each their own.... Now, that's something I haven't heard before. How come? People usually hate Attack of the clones for the love story and the badly aged CGI. Wanna share your thoughts?

I think it is very close between II and III. everything that you just listed about Attack of the Clones could be applied to this one to IMO. The two movies epitomize what is wrong with the trilogy. TPM is the "best" imo.

I liked all three, not as much as the OT, but horrible dialogue aside, they fit the universe Lucas created just fine.

A-
While it still suffers some soft around its edges traits from I & II (still with the poor Padme-Anakin moments), it's arguably the richest SW film of all time. I re-watched it after TFA & found remarkable how open & empty TFA feels compared to ROTS' rich densely creative settings & worlds feel. The Opera scene for example, the flyover alone is nothing we'll see again - now we'll get places filled with giant Hollywood props because ppl demanded painted cardboard instead of cg ones.
4th behind SW, ESB, & R1.

It's a good entry into the SW saga. It has perhaps the best opening of all SW films. Although nostalgically I prefer TESB and possibly even ANH. But let's take the nostalgia and sentiment out of it.
The opening takes us right into a full scale war that underscores the gravitas of the most basic theme of this saga: hello!... it is called Star Wars! It was done in a very balanced way where you feel both the scope and gravitas of the battle without sacrificing the personalization of the storyline at this point in the movie. Star Wars (being the fairy tale that it is) often presents the wars and battles in an idealistic fashion that centers around heroics and backdrops for the main plots and characters. But this opening balanced that against the more realistic portrayal of war (gritty environments full of sensory overload with random mass casualties) more than any other SW battle or movie!
Rogue One was done in a more realistic fashion or style, of course. But for some it scaled back too much of the idealistic heroism. After our heroes finally reach their destination by the skin of their teeth (which created great tension for the opening of the story), they face a gauntlet of problems and droids before reaching the point of the classic SW epic confrontation: the lightsaber duel. This is the only SW movie that gives us a genuine lightsaber battle in the opening. And it had plenty of gravitas with the seeming fate of the Chancellor at stake, and a life or death battle that almost spells the end for ObiWan and sees the end of the 2nd biggest antagonist "meet his destiny"! Not to mention that this is also the point of no return for Anakin's attraction to the Darkside. And where his Sith apprenticeship starts, even before he pledges himself to it.
The movie continues with a gauntlet of "minor" perils for the heroes and Palpatine before they confront Grievous, setting the stage for the rivalry with the antagonist of "the second act" of ROTS. After an action packed battle with Grievous and his bodyguards, the heroes salvage a very sabotaged situation to just barely save the day (in another tension filled situation). This all segways into 2 of the films continuous storylines: Chancellor Palpatine coming away looking like a sympathetic "damsel in distress", and Padmé's pregnancy.
Not to mention the music score behind it perfectly done. Need I say more...

I watch the prequels because I love Yoda. He is easily my favorite. '
The prequels have their problems, but the hate they get isn't warranted. I thought Ewan McGregor did an excellent job as Obi-Wan. ROTS is the best of the prequels.

I kinda feel the same way. After rewatching TFA, it did feel a little bit empty and dull. I love practical effects and sets, but they needed to blend it with CGI to spice up the frame. CGI is awesome and works well when it's used as a tool to enhance practical effects or add to the background imagery.

It's my favorite of the prequels, and probably my fourth favorite Star Wars film overall. (Which is still pretty high, I think). It's not without it's faults and I have some problems with it, but I still find it enjoyable. Love Ewan McGregor in it, Yoda, Chewie, Artoo, Threepio, Samuel. L Jackson is always fun to watch, the lightsaber battles, the shift in tone.

From the Star Wars Oxygen podcast:
"I think that this is the creator of Star Wars basically giving us the nucleus of his entire epic. You know? This is the Origin Story. We finally 'earned' this. You know, we watched The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones, but this is really where the galactic civil war is created, and this is where Darth Vader is born. It's where Luke is born; it's where Padme dies. It is such a critical moment in Star Wars, and this is the creator of Star Wars not answering to any studio, just creating what he wants to create the way he wants to create it."

I grew up with the OT. I love it. I remember the "dark times" of the late 80's wen all we had was West End Games & Willow!
TPM was 2 me was "uhhhh". AOTC was an improvement but not much. Also I can care less about the visual effects. Bad puppets vs bad CGI. 2 sides of the same coin.
When I finally saw ROTS I was floored. Did GL intentionally make I & II odd so III will b better? Not sure but it was the best of the PT 2 me.
As the years went by it became the best of the Saga. TFA is a retread. R1 was a 100 times better. Now will it surpass ROTS 2 me? I tell u all in a few years!
