It's good at putting every girlfriend I've ever had right to sleep. The soundtrack is soooo soothing. I appreciate it though. I bought a replica of Deckard's blaster. I prefer the theatrical cut where Deckard isn't a Replicant. Or more specifically, that isn't spelled out.

No. If it was good it wouldn't have bombed at the US box office and caused the studio to re-edit it SIX times in a vein attempt to salvage a fundamentally flawed turd of a movie. LOL! I still don't quite understand why it has such a cult following. It did take me some years to finally get around to watching it again, but it was just as boring as it was back in the 1990s when renting it on VHS. I thought maybe it had something to do with being so young at the time. Apparently not. I would say that the theatrical cut is probably the best version. I'm not keen on having everything narrated in the film. It's like it needs to be explained so people can understand it better. It's usually not a good sign when you have six different versions of the same film. I will watch the sequel, but I don't plan on seeing it in theaters. I'll wait to stream it on Netflix.

No, it's not. And it's amazing how hard it is to find real people - people not on the internet - who actually like it. Speak for yourself, i know a lot of people who are big fans Yes, I am speaking for myself. Obviously the people who love this miserable film are real enough; but my experience (if not yours) suggests that there aren't as many of them as their online vociferousness would indicate. No one I know cares at all for the film, and this is especially true among cinephiles. (I suspect that the more one loves movies, the less inclined one is to love this one.) And interestingly, in every conversation, the first person to bring up the fact they don't much care for this movie does so tentatively, almost as though they expect to be roared down... only to find that everyone else is in agreement with them.

I don't know what kind of cinephiles are you refering to, but the ones i know love the movie. And the ones i know watch all kinds of movies from any period. I'm not saying you can't dislike the movie, hell, i hate a lot of movies loved by people, but don't generalize

(I suspect that the more one loves movies, the less inclined one is to love this one.) that's so not true. unless you mean the more one loves blockbusters and comic-book movies

It's funny the subject of the Blade Runner remake came up. The husband told me last night that they were doing a remake and seemed to be looking forward to it. My reaction was "bfd." I won't say it's a bad movie but I could never understand all the hype and I agree with you about the cult following. I'll NEVER understand that.

Blade Runner is one of the worst movies ever made--I waited 30 years to see it, finally saw it last year--Contrived, and boring beyond belief, definitely Harrison Ford's worst movie
