I voted no. He didnt stick around long enough and he has had one MMA fight...the one where he got smashed by Mickey Gall (He beat Northcutt, so at least he lost to a guy who seems to be an up and comer.)
CM Punk is a legendary talent, but Hall of Fame, go back the WWE, youre told old for MMA, it past you by man.
He isnt hall of fame status, but if he returns to the WWE....yea he could be.

You know it's a fake hall of fame that includes Koko B Ware and (a) it has nothing whatsoever to do with merit, but even if it did (b) CM Punk would is more "kayfabe" qualified than about 3/4ths of those inducted. For a subjective question, you've somehow managed to answer it incorrectly on every possible level and evince a fundamental misunderstanding of what a wrestling promotion is, what WWE is, what their "hall of fame is," and how all of this is completely unrelated to UFC. Are you, like, some big dopey mark or what? |

Im a non drinker. Ive been drunk once in my life, and I didnt like it. See I think it should be taken more seriously. I dont think KoKo belongs in the hall of fame. The only "pass" I give is Pete Rose and that's because MLB wont do the right thing for him. So I think it's a nice gesture to at least put him in the WWE hall of fame, no it aint the same as the MLB but he is the one I give a pass too. If he ever gets in the MLB hall of fame, he has to go. Look I feel we got a lot of people in the hall of fame dont belong there. I guess I take it more serious > most and the WWF itself. Like it or not, look at the poll results. Seems like a few people agree with me, no need to be rude. A mark, look at you, youre getting upset over a silly "CM Punk be in the hall of fame" question. Next time before I state my opinion, should I come to you first and get your seal of approval? I apologize you disagree with me, but I feel how I feel. I truly apologize if this somehow upset you. It just means that three people who voted fundamentally understand how the wrestling business works and what the purpose of the WWE hall of fame is, and seven people (including you, apparently) voted for this question as though they were six years old and found out about the existence of professional wrestling yesterday. And, actually, even that is mind boggling. So let's do this, "friend": tell me: why CM Punk WOULDN'T qualify for any professional wrestling hall of fame anywhere, under any criteria, and if he wouldn't, who would? |

Again, no need to insult over something this silly. Also how CM Punk left, isnt gonna go well with WWE. Just because I look at the Hall of fame differently doesnt make me "6" it makes me think differently.
Ive been a fan of wrestling probably longer than you. WM1, got it. Ive seen WM1-18, IO quit around WM 21ish. I watched AWA, I watched the very first Rumble in 1988. Ive seen the first survivor series, so I take the hall of fame serious and wish the WWE did as well. Just because I expect better and you dont, fine, so be it.
Because I think the Hall of Fame should be the...the best, the cream of the crop, not,"lets let in Koko B Ware and the Bushwhackers and Duke the Dumpster Drosse and Doink the Clown and Lita.
I want it for the people who were the best:
Hogan/Warrior/Shawn Michaels/Bret Hart/The Rock/John Cena/Chris Jericho/Bob Backlund/Macho Man/Randy Orton/Undertaker/Piper/Andre the Giant/Ted Dibiase/Ric Flair/Sting/Jake Roberts/Rick Rude/Mr Pefect..aka Curt Hennig/Bobby Heenan/Jim Cornette/Vince McMahon/SCSA...Ill stop here.
The only one I give a pass too is as I said earlier, Pete Rose because he deserves to be in the MLB hall of fame, so I'd give him this. And it isnt like Pete Rose is some jobber baseball player, he is one of the best.
I want it to actually mean something, when they pretty much let in the Bushwhackers, yea, it's a joke.

(They didn't: they drew less, had shorter stints, "accomplished" less, and were less popular at their peaks.)

Jake Roberts was revolutionary. His promos, he didnt have to scream, how he used psychology was fn amazing. He was wrestling in an era when belts werent passed out like candy bars.
Wcw? NWA? The dude was the draw in WcW, maybe one of the guys closest to the entire package.
Out of these four, I can see the most with "ehhh Rude."
What about all the work Hennig done outside the WWE. This guy was another total package and maybe the best IC champion ever. He was an amazing talent.
I dont look at just "WWE" career but what they did for wrestling all around.

Okay, so just to recap: the question is whether Punk should be admitted to the WWE Hall of Fame as it exists, and your answer was no, because the the hall of fame should be something totally different from (and in many ways the complete opposite of) what it is or ever will be in reality? Riiight.
That's like the OP asking if everyone likes eating turkey, some people chime in one way or another, and then you come stomping into the room like a petulant child and scream that in your perfect world turkeys wouldn't exist, then demand everyone stop and cook you a lobster, and run out.

Given the question is "should" I would say yes. Would he though? I'm not entirely sure unless it's years down the road and both sides have come to some sort of agreement. They're not exactly on the best of terms but eventually things do tend to happen like Macho Man getting inducted and so on.
While I personally don't ever care to see Punk come back to WWE as I found him at his end to be over rated by the IWC as if he was Gods gift to wrestling. I however can't ignore that he made a huge impact on the WWE. His heel work with the Straight Edge Society was brilliant and his feud with Jeff Hardy along that time was amazing. I've found Punk is a very convincing heel that can really cut into a guy with his promos. As a face though? He was absolute crap. What made him so great as a heel made him everything but as a baby face. Tried too much to be about jokes with his "clown shoes" insults to Johnny Ace and every time he tried to be funny in that way it would just turn me off completely. We already had John Cena and most grown ups don't like that part of the John Cena character so we sure as hell didn't need another one.
But yeah, for his heel work alone I'd put him in.
