I liked it, but i can see why someone might not like it. Michael Keaton was great, the Vulture is easily one of the best MCU villains and his motivation was not only realistic but relatable, love his little speech about how the rich and powerful just shit on people like him and expect people like him to just take it. Definitely seems relevant to the times and makes Tony out to be even more of a dick. I really wish we got more screen time from keaton! Love the school stuff, but wasn't to crazy about some of the classmates, including Zendaya character. Overall a solid MCU spidey film, definitely better than Amazing Spider-Man 2! I thought Michelle was awesome. She stole every scene she was in. She was alright, i didn't think she was terrible. I am curious about the MJ thing, no doubt it'll cause more controversy among the purist.

She's a completely different character taking an very alternate version of the same role.

And than the purists will have no argument.

Unexpectedly i kinda really really liked it. Holland is perfect as Spiderman and Peter Parker, and Vulture might be my favorite MCU villain along with Zemo and Loki(not really a villain) It knew to stay serious when it needed. i didn't care for Zendaya, at all, but she was not an important part of the movie for me. I also apreciate the fact that iron man was not overused in the film.
Overall, my fave Spiderman movies are : Amazing Spiderman 1 and this one.

I like how you pretend like it's impossible for anyone to dislike the movie. You are a gold standard Marveltard.

Good stuff, never been a big fan of any of the takes on Spider-man but this one was enjoyable fun. Looking forward to see where they go with it.

I saw it last night. Its much better than any of the ASM's. Its not a perfect film and still lags behind Spiderman 2 which is still the best imo. But Homecoming was entertaining enough. The pacing was well done and seemed to transition from scene to scene smoothly. The comedy was funny for the most part but still overcooked in certain instances. Michael Keaton is excellent and not only has a credible backstory & motivation but has a personal, emotional connection with Peter Parker which makes their final duel more investing (in a similar manner that Ego does to Peter Quill - perhaps Feige is finally listening to the weak villain criticisms).
The action is decent but didn't feel as intense as Spiderman 2. Didnt like certain cast choices. The fundamental story of spiderman is well conceived though. 7.5/10

It was really good. Maguire is still my favorite Spider-Man, but that could change the more we see Holland. He was incredible. His chemistry with Ned, Liz, and Aunt May was great.
Speaking of Aunt May, I'm glad that the MCU can laugh at itself. Aunt May is constantly being hit on and it makes sense. She's still hot. It got several good laughs.
As far as the other jokes go, they were really good. The humor felt real and smooth; not forced like in GotG Vol. 2. I really liked how Marvel allowed Watts to put his own style and flair into the directing. This is one of the better looking MCU movies so far.
Back to Holland, there was one scene in particular where I was shocked at his acting chops. It was when he first shows up to his date's house. He was great. I was surprised by how he acted. It was incredible acting. I can't wait to see more of him.
Keaton as the Vulture was good. He is easily in the top-tier of Marvel villains. I hated the look of the wings, but Keaton made up for it.
As far as what I didn't like, there isn't a lot. I thought it dragged a bit in the middle. I still don't like the look of the Spidey suit, it just looks too fake.
Then there's Zendaya. I know that some people really loved her, but she annoyed the hell out of me.
Some of the action was shaky and disorienting, but some of it was pretty well-done. It was kinda weird to see the action quality fluctuate from scene-to-scene.
Overall, it's a good movie that sets up another winning Marvel hero. I'll give it a solid 8.4/10.
(Oh and that second post-credit scene? The best post-credit scene in the history of cinema. Kudos to a self-aware MCU.)

But I can see how some people find that annoying.

I just found her to be really unnecessarily cynical, but she still made me laugh from time-to-time. What did you think of that last post-credit scene? I thought it was a stroke of ironic genius. Marvel can laugh at itself now, which is really cool.

You can imagine how I laughed.
