Lana Turner
"This was the beginning of the discotheque era, so the places in Hollywood were very, very packed all the time. They were packed seven nights a week. People were queuing round the block, especially at the weekends, to get in. And I mean big movie stars, Lana Turner and all these people, would come in. So you had that kind of thing every night, it was fantastic."
- Scott Walker
"Lana Turner taught me how to kiss with a lot of passion but without too much pressure. I dived at her beautiful lips, and she choked and coughed and came up for air and said, Roger, Roger ... well, darling, when a lady gets over 35, she has to watch the neck. So if you could kiss me with equal passion but a lot less pressure, I'd be much happier!"
- Roger Moore
"Lana Turner was a real star, a movie star."
- Joe Don Baker
Lana Turner & James Stewart :
Lana Turner & Robert Taylor :
Lana Turner & Clark Gable :
Spencer Tracy & Lana Turner :
"Lana Turner is just what I had in mind. Of all the young actresses, she's the only one who has that kind of style. That '40s movie star kind of quality."
- Dennis Hopper
Joan Blondell & Lana Turner :
Judy Garland & Lana Turner :
Veronica Lake & Lana Turner :

Her first appearance in The Postman Always Rings Twice is surely her most memorable moment. Although top-billed in The Bad and the Beautiful it's really Kirk Douglas' picture, but that's my favourite of her's. Very effective in The Three Musketeers too.

Very effective in The Three Musketeers too. Did you see 'Johnny Eager' (1941) before? An earlier picture featuring Turner and Van Heflin. Another goodie is 'Green Dolphin Street' (1947), a substitute pairing Heflin described as "movie madness".

I love the scene in LA Confidential with the Lana Turner and Johnny Stompanato characters. Stompanato . . . you couldn't make up that name. As many will know, in real life Lana Turner killed Stompanato...maybe.

A scandal can destoy many careers, but she managed to make the opposite, use it as a enhancer, her career had just died at MGM, making forgotten movies like The Prodigal, Her daugher killed her bf Stompanatta, and she was the Talk of the Town, making Payton Place a huge hit.
Madame X 1966, not a great movie, but in later scenes surprisingly showing her age, she is damned good.why she should've showed that before.

Though I love the film "Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde" with Spencer Tracy, I always thought that Lana and Ingrid's roles should have been reversed.

Such a beautiful face, but not a particularly talented actor. She is a pleasure to watch on the screen.

In what way has Ann Sheridan a "remarkable face" and Lana Turner an "unremarkable" face . pimpinainteasy In other words, What, to you, makes a face remarkable ? sheridan had a bigger, fleshy, oval face that often wore an aristocratic expression. as for lana turner, if it wasnt pointed out to me that she was a big star, i wouldnt take another look at her.

Sounds like a matter of personal taste then. Many were not be able to take their eyes off of her.

Such a beautiful face, but not a particularly talented actor. She is a pleasure to watch on the screen. I think she could be great in roles that suited her talents. I also feel she transitioned well to big scale melodrama in the 1950s.
