I'd give it a similar rating to mad men and carnival. The rest are superior.

I haven't seen full seasons of Deadwood and Carnivale, but I would rank it 6th from the 5 listed beforehand.

i only made it one episode into the Wire. TWD's first episode blows it out of the water.
but it's mostly too inconsistent (despite its flashes of brilliance) to measure up to really great shows.

I enjoy the Walking Dead more than i have enjoyed any of the shows you listed, that's not to say i haven't enjoyed the other shows or that they're bad shows, just for me personally, Walking Dead is more enjoyable
So for me, i judge a show more on whether i enjoy it, rather than if it's technically a 'good' show, plenty of really high quality all round shows that get critically acclaimed, that i haven't personally enjoyed, where as a few shows that generally get slammed, i have enjoyed
