Well this thread turned into a fight rather bizarrely. That was a weird comment from screaming tree frogs, if that is his idea of a joke he needs work on his communication skills and comedy material.

It is rather odd how he stalks me. I have learned that he is Patrick Bateman, a notorious Soapbox troll.

Also: full disclosure - I did stiff on the tip once, in Vegas. There were extenuating circumstances: 1. Between the person showing us to the table and the waiter, I was asked twice if I wanted water, and neither brought it, so had to ask for it again. 2. Waiter promptly disappeared for good after the food was brought. Like, maybe his shift ended, but no one else came to replace him. 3. Waited 30 minutes after finishing the food, nothing. I had to get up and button hole a waiter in another section for the bill. 4. The manager, who I'd seen dealing with what looked like other customers' complaints, promptly disappeared before I could address points 2 and 3 with her. i gave the waiter a good tip 20%. i know the head chef of the place, it's run right when he's there....when it's not, like the other day it's not.

Harp, Yuengling, and Coors Light are on tap. small establishment that gets a pop of weekends. The owners know I drink - it's one of those situations where if you're at a place for a year - be on your best behavior and be an 'Angel'. didn't touch one drop for a year. once you're there and are friends with everybody and they know you can handle yourself - just roll baby - the owners see me with a 'red plastic tailgaiting cup' under the bar - good people - would never do anything to jeopordize them or the establishment or patrons and if we're having 'fun' - i always make sure i have a ride home dude - since you like Bloody Mary's - you've got to try that 'Bloody Derby' - you just swap out the Vodka for Bourbon

3. 15% was acceptable when Reagan was in office. 18% minimum, 20% is better (and easier to calculate). Math question - Say a restaurant bill from the Reagan years was $10 and now it's $20. Then 15% would go up proportionately, from $1.50 to $3.00. Is there some reason why the percent should go to 20%, and thus the tip from $1.50 to $4.00? Other than the fact that the minimum hourly wage has been stagnant.
