This is easily one of my favorites of the 2000s . Everything just worked with me and I thought Spike Lee (who I normally don't care for) knocked it out of the park with the direction . lead by Edward Norton's powerful performance , this film explores a man's last hours before heading to prison . Also features a good cast like Rosario Dawson , Anna Paquin , Brian Cox , and his two buddies played by Barry Pepper (featured in my avatar ) & Phillip Seymour Hoffman (rip) . Just brilliant performances all around with some GREAT scenes. For example, the "FUCK YOU" mirror scene was jaw dropping when I first saw this film . The scene under the bridge near the end where Monty asks his buddy to make him ugly was also powerful . 10/10

I agree 25th Hour is modern day masterpiece. It has my favorite Edward Norton performance and a stellar supporting cast It should've been nominated for multiple Oscars. The only other Spike Lee movies that are on this level are Do The Right Thing, Malcolm X, Bamboozled and Clockers.

Didn't like it. Felt like it took 25 hours to get through.

It's easily my favorite Spike Lee movie as nothing else he directed is even close (the rest are pretty much average at best) and easily my favorite Edward Norton movie to. It's a fairly unique movie.
9/10 ; which makes it within my Top 27 movies.

I certainly like 25th HOUR (8 out of 10), but DO THE RIGHT THING (10 out of 10) and JUNGLE FEVER (9 out of 10) are more provocative films which deal with more powerful themes. Then there is MALCOLM X.

It's a good movie that shows spike lee is a competent director when he steps away from his obsession with being a hate filled bigot.
