edit: oh, the other casting is for Mr Immortal. is this actually going to be a Great Lakes Avengers show? i hope they keep it subversive.

You know, I'm a big fan of the MCU and I'm always excited for them bringing new characters into movies... but lately I've started to get worried about all these new characters they're announcing movies and shows for.
Before, they'd introduce an unknown character only once in a while, wait to see if that character hit it off before moving with a new project. But for the last few months it seems they've been making announcements for a lot of new characters to be turned into movies or TV shows.
I mean, I'm still excited, I'm just worried.

I wouldn't say I'm worried so much as a little concerned... Marvel is extending their brand into other media to guarantee that superhero fiction becomes a staple of movies and television that we take for granted like dramas, comedies or action content. Not all of these attempts will survive but, people will get used to the idea, and Marvel Studios and Television can ensure its longevity. Marvel Studios only makes one kind of Movie. Once the genre dries up, all of the toys go back in the box. If they saturate, they may reach a critical mass in which the genre becomes embedded and never goes away. SaveSave |
