19 slams.
Indisputably, the best ever.

I'll admit, I wrote him off a few years ago, I think after he went out in an early round in one of the majors. Pleased to be wrong. Who knows how many he can make it to when he's managing his body like this and playing the way he has. And as of this moment no real up and coming threats on the horizon, just those from the other multi-major winners.

He should be able to round up his tally of Grand Slam titles to twenty. was he joking when he said that he was going to take another six months off? Does anybody know? I hope not, it would make the US Open far less interesting.

I didn't hear when he said that but I can see him taking more breaks from tennis these days at his age, where he can stay fresher going into a major while spending more time with his family.

Total domination at age 35. Very impressive.

I figured Djoker to be winning every year at this point.

When he was being interviewed after receiving the trophy, the reporter said something like "You've had a great year after taking six months off last year", to which he replied that he was going to take another six months off. It didn't sound to me like he was joking, but it could very easily have been so.

What I am wondering is whether he will play the North American hard court season.

Brace yourselves, I'm going to be that guy. How come nobody asks about PEDs with Federer? It seems like dominant athletes in literally every other sport always have whispers of PEDs coming from somewhere, but not a guy who's still blowing away the field in tennis at age 35? I'm not even saying he's on them, because I'm not that cynical. I just wonder why it never really comes up. Probably because Fed is so damn likeable. Just an observation.

Honestly that's why I was never a fan. He makes it look too easy. I don't dislike him, he's too nice a guy to dislike. But he's just not very compelling. It's the same reason I always rooted for Agassi over Sampras. Sampras almost always won but I was an Agassi guy because it looked like he had to work for his wins.

Yep I can see that - he makes it look like a different game to everyone else that are running about all the time.. its strange how it happens on certain courts but not clay though - nadal may have a top record on clay but he doesnt make it look as easy.
