Game of Thrones protects the characters truly important to an absurd degree. People like Tyrion or Dany or Arya who should be dead several times over always get plot armor no matter what. So it's not a false dilemma at all, since Marvel has use for its characters instead of just killing them off for some cheap thrills. As for shows like Breaking Bad or Walking Dead, same deal. We knew Walter White wasn't going to die before the finale. you can twist the facts all you like, sam. The fact remains, modern narratives for grown ups superbly manage to kill off major characters and protagonists while maintaining the interest in the narrative and raising the stakes (the mastery of creating suspense and drama writing), while MCU is infamous for lazily pseudo-killing and resurrecting them. There is a middle ground, there is your fallacy. Needless to say, all this is not good in stories about action and mortal confrontations; the weak and impotent MCU-antagonists only add to that. This is why MCU is so insipid to watch for people of an intelligence age beyond 12y. In the end these are Disney films for children. No, Marvel just knows killing characters willy nilly is just bad because it's a waste of character. Game of Thrones knows this too, because it protects its own important characters. Difference is that MCU gives its characters more to do than just be there to get killed off for shock value. As for making the villains the stars of the show, that's also the result of lazy writers. Making the villain the star is the result of writers who didn't care about their protagonist. Like DC. MCU is for kids the same way Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings and Dr Who are for children.

You posted this same thing verbatim like two days ago.
