He only had a supporting role in it, but why the hell has Very Mean Men (2000) not appeared on DVD? Such a funny film. I was going to add "and original" but on reflection it is like a Woody Allen scenario (and better than most of Woody's recent efforts).

Thank you for the entertainment Mr Landau. It was really sad waking up this morning and discovering both Landau and George Romero have died.

Thank you for the entertainment Mr Landau. It was really sad waking up this morning and discovering both Landau and George Romero have died. you keep trolling now. So now you are stalking me because I called you out for being right wing Trump troll on the politics board hi224. When your slew of creepy passive aggressive PMs failed to intimidate me you turned to even more despicable activities. You are angry and pathetic, and as a compassionate person I feel sorry for you, but you don't scare me.

Martin Landau was superb in "The Outer Limits" episode "The Man Who Was Never Born".
Shirley Knight co-starred.

Who's next I only wonder? Maybe the disturbing news of Will Smith playing the Genie in the upcoming Aladdin film is the "third death", as in the death of all sanity?

An actor of immense talent and commitment who became a dedicated teacher. Martin Landau made so many enjoyable films during his career, working on low budget genre productions as well as major studio ventures. I hope he's at peace now.
Thanks for the movies.
Martin Landau Rest in Peace

Martin Landau was superb in "The Outer Limits" episode "The Man Who Was Never Born". Shirley Knight co-starred. Yes, but neither that nor "The Bellero Shield" is the one about astronauts landing on a planet that has a swamp with a monster hiding in it (that the other poster mentioned). I know of NO such episode.

He did the best Outer Limits ever--Astronauts landing on a planet with a deceptive looking swamp that contains a monster Which episode is that? I've seen ALL episodes of the classic series and I've NEVER seen one in which that happens. ML was in two episodes..."The Man Who Was Never Born" and "The Bellero Shield" NEITHER has that happen in them. He was NEVER in the nineties REHASH version.

An intriguing bit of ML trivia I haven't seen mentioned anywhere:
After the first Star Trek pilot was rejected by NBC, the network gave Gene Roddenbery the go-ahead to make another one. Roddenberry decided to expand the role of Spock, which had been quite minor in the first pilot. Since the role was now bigger he felt it needed a bigger name than Leonard Nimoy, and offered it to Landau.
But Landau had been offered another Desilu pilot, Mission: Impossible, and chose to do that instead. Thus Nimoy got to stay in the role of Spock.
But Landau wasn't finished influencing Star Trek. After M:I's first season Landau got into a contract (money) dispute with Paramount, and threatened to walk off the show. Paramount was prepared to give his role to Nimoy. And what of Spock? Star Trek made tentative plans to bring in Laurence Montaigne (Shton in "Amok Time"), probably as another Vulcan character rather than Spock himself.
Only a few days before Star Trek was to begin shooting for the season Montaigne got a call from his agent: "Leonard's in and you're out". It seems Landau had come to terms on M:I, resulting in no reason for Nimoy to leave ST.

I really enjoyed seeing him in so many things. It's fun to spot him in some of his early roles, such as the sleazy guy in North by Northwest, et al. He was great in Ed Wood. But I'll always remember him most fondly as Rollin Hand in Mission: Impossible.
