That scene made me NOT want to re-watch the movie.

The sex scene was just flat out weird. I think a lot of parents at the time were pissed off because they thought it was a movie for kids. Turns out, it wasn't anywhere near that! Though, I still think it's pretty awesome. Many self-entitled parents, who are as dense as they come and perhaps shouldn't even be having kids, think that it is all about them and turn a terrific and funny older kids\adults film into a flop. I recall seeing this at the cinema, after they had changed the title to Howard: A New Breed Of Hero, and wasn't sure what to expect, but ended up loving every minute of it. It had a lot of heart as well, ducky! Lea Thompson was always an asset to the films she starred in, in the 80's. She deserved a support actress nomination at the very least, for Back To The Future-85'.

Because it is an idiotic badly made movie that is absolutely nothing like the comic book. I hadn't read the comic book, so went in without any prejudice and liked what I saw.

I loved it when I was a little kid. Finally saw it as an adult about 7/8 years ago and it didn't hold up. It's a fairly terrible movie. All the nostalgia goggles in the world couldn't improve it for me. Some great special F/X's for its time and they've dated a bit, but it's still not enough to save the movie. For me, a large part of the charm of this film, is the cool 80's vibe and optical and stop motion visual effects, which I thought were awesome then and still do now.

Lea Thompson and she did fine vocal wise on several of Thomas Dolbys songs. Sure it got a silly plot but it also comes with lots of great 80s feel to it, and never once got boring. Easily a 6,5/10 type of movie, cheesy but my kind of fun. And lets not forget, John Barry's lovely film score.

I'll reiterate: human duck boobs!
Tim Robbinz is probably why it suffers from suckage.

And did you see his cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy? Marvel should do a new movie or at least a show now that we can handle a talking raccoon with a tree for a friend.

Marvel should do a new movie or at least a show now that we can handle a talking raccoon with a tree for a friend. 'Guardians Of The Galaxy' director James Gunn credits Howard's appearance as the result of a jokey conversation he had with editor Fred Raskin ... but the idea for a new vehicle has remained with him ever since. “It’s possible Howard could reappear as more of a character in the Marvel Universe. But if people think that’s going to lead to a Howard The Duck movie, that’s probably not going to happen in the next four years. Who knows after that?”
