Here are some classic anthology shows that featured introductions by a host.
The Twilight Zone The Alfred Hitchcock Hour Death Valley Days (originally hosted by The Old Ranger and later by several famous actors including Ronald Reagan) Tales from the Crypt (gotta love the Crypt Keeper) The Wonderful World of Walt Disney (I think it had a few different names over the years). This one doesn't quite fit the criteria because it showed movies but I count it just because it was originally hosted by Walt himself. The Outer Limits had intro narration sometimes (not really the same thing)
I am not including wrap around shows that played movies like "USA Up All Night" or "TNT's Monster Vision" or "Commander USA's Groovy Movies" or the countless horror host wrap around shows or riff shows like "Mystery Science Theater 3000".
Are there any other hosted anthologies that I didn't include here?

Way Out was quite good, as I recall, but short-lived.
Karloff introduced Thriller episodes by saying, "And as sure as my name is Boris Karloff, this is going to be a thriller." My father would say, "Your name isn't Boris Karloff, it's William Henry Pratt!"
Rod Serling also hosted Night Gallery which was an effort to bring back The Twilight Zone.

The 1950s series "The Star and the Story", in the episodes I've seen, was hosted by whoever the star was for that week, who would introduce and the story and (I think) do the closing as well.

Tales from the Darkside had a good narrator intro. I've never liked any of the Twilight Zone reboots. But Forrest Whitaker did host the 2002 version, so good catch on your part.

Some more from the 1950s: "Short Short Dramas" was an experiment at doing a 15-minute (12 minutes minus ads) anthology series. I've seen an episode, it's not too bad. When originally aired it had a host (I don't know her name), but these host segments were deleted when the series was repeated in syndication and seem to no longer survive.
"Telephone Time" had a host. I've seen several episodes where the story is based on a true event, and the host interviews the real-life person at the end of the show. I enjoyed watching the episodes, but it seems non-sci-fi anthology series are the antithesis of what everyone else wants to watch in the 2010s.
"General Electric Theater" was hosted by Ronald Reagan.

"The Loretta Young Show" was hosted by Gaara of the Sand. Just kidding, it was actually hosted by Loretta Young. What else would you expect?
"Robert Montgomery Presents", no prizes for guessing who hosted it. I've seen a single excellent episode. Would like to see more.

So far I've mentioned 1950s series, how about a 1990s series? Timeless Tales from Hallmark was a 1990s series hosted by Olivia Newton-John. A bunch of cute adaptations of popular fairy tales. Fun. I enjoyed it.
Knock on Any Door was a 1965-1966 British anthology hosted (according to IMDb) by Ted Willis. Haven't seen it, but I believe it still exists in the archives unlike a lot of 1960s UK TV...would like to see it.

The Dick Powell Theatre SNL spoofed the genre with a series hosted by Leonard Pinth-Garnell (Dan Ackroyd).

Thanks. I forgot about Thriller and I don't think I've heard of the other 2. Night of April 14thThat links a full episode. The claim was that all stories were based in fact, some pass the test, others were hoaxes. John Newland was a very important aspect of "One Step Beyond" and in my opinion at least as important to the show as Rod Serling was to "The Twilight Zone"...he not only hosted or introduced stories, occasionally he would enter the stories themselves as hinself. There is a thread about the show on the "cult TV" BOARD.

"Robert Montgomery Presents", no prizes for guessing who hosted it. I've seen a single excellent episode. Would like to see more. I used to watch the Loretta Young Show regularly when it first aired. She would always come sweeping through the door at the start wearing a marvelous gown. Another show not mentioned yet was "The Woody Woodpecker Show" hosted by Walter Lantz. He would sometimes give technical descriptions as Walt Disney did when hosting his show.
