...especially given that this could've been the best July we've had in a while in terms of films.
Think about it. 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' was awesome, 'War for the Planet of the Apes' even more so, 'Dunkirk' is looking to be one of the best films of 2017, 'Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets' is looking to be a cheesy fun space opera with gorgeous visuals, and 'Atomic Blonde' is looking to be a fun little action film.
With all of these films coming out this month, it could've all ended in a high note if not for 'The Emoji Movie' to ruin the moment by spitting on them entirely.

Wasn't that movie originally supposed to be released on August 4th? What made them decide to move it a week up?

Hollywood has to shit like the rest of us. But why--oh, why--this particular form of diarrhea?

Hollywood has to shit like the rest of us. But why--oh, why--this particular form of diarrhea? Not nearly enough fiber (read: wit) to make the process less painful in this case.

"The Emoji Movie"....an epic for the ages. A time capsule of human civilization in the year 2017. Lord, dear God, begin the apocalypse!

Why Hollywood thought this was a good idea was just beyond me. It's like one executive bashed his head off a low hanging door frame and saw someone texting and seconding an emoji in that text straight after and thought, hey, let's make a movie all about emojis, and fill it with literally every single big cliche possible, because that's what audiences will expect of this movie
What morons. They really thought they could sell us this turd. Well, my money's going on their next film after The Emoji Movie that You've Already Seen because it's Filled with Every Cliche Ever: The Dark Tower.

Yeah the Emoji Movie is really gonna suck. Just imagine how hilarious it would be if it was actually a good movie (not that that's possible).

Of all the parodies they could have possibly done...THIS ONE? Wtf? And how many kids whom they're targeting with trailers for The Emoji Movie actaully watch The Handmaid's Tale?

It's a movie about smartphones. I feel that's a review in its self.

6% RT, 12% Metacritic and 1.5 on IMDb, it couldn't even beat Dunkirk, given that it's attracting a wider audience, but Dunkirk had a hook to get people in, this did not, all this had was the biggest backlash I've seen since Ghostbusters last year.

The fact this film was made has made me lose all faith in humanity. Don't get me wrong, this is a shit movie. But it's not the first time Hollywood or someone else tried to make such a cynical piece of crap. I mean, we might see the Pokémon Go! movie next decade.

politicidalI thought that fad had pretty much--well, not evaporated, but wasn't as popular as it had once been. Or am I wrong on that?
