Woman having sex with a shirt/bra on. Doesn't happen in real life. TV having to have that annoying teenage boy/girl who is misunderstood and has hair all over his face. (Walking Dead, (also Darryl even though he's not a teenage, his hair is),Fear the Walking Dead, The Strain). Not a fan of teenage hairy faced girls either. lol

There’s a thing that’s both ‘good’ and ‘bad’ with TV shows nowadays, and that’s the writers of shows listening to fans. I realise there are probably very few shows that actually make adjustments to their shows based on fan comments, but I do think that it does happen on occasion. I know that there have been shows I’ve watched where lots of people voiced their dislike for a certain character or plot line, but their discontent was ignored. Sometimes they're listened to and alterations made actually improve things. However, I’ve also seen things go horribly wrong for some shows when the audience had too much input on what happened with plot lines or characters in them. I’ve seen side characters who’ve become SO popular that they’ve almost swallowed the shows they’re in, taking away from the actual leads. Even worse, I’ve seen villain characters who were kept around well past their time/when they should’ve been killed off or written out. So sometimes listening to a show’s audience can be of benefit, but other times it can be a detriment to the show. Tim Kring knows all about that. Executive Producers/Writers bowing down to the fans was a major cause for the decline in quality and ultimately death of Heroes.

Definitely TV Characters that talk way too fast ( almost to the point of mumbling ? ) . I always have to put on the TV Closed Captioning ( especially on newer shows ) LOL . Thanks so much 5hole for your subject post .

Prior villains becoming "part of the gang", even if they straight up murdered people in the past. Think Lional Luthor and half the cast of Buffy.
The extremely hot but oh-so-awkward nerd girl that has a crush on the male lead and exists solely in nebbish guys' fantasies. The TV equivalent of the manic pixie dream girl. Think Felicity Snoak, Willow and Fred from Buffyverse, that one girl from Smallville, etc.
Shows on the verge of cancellation having the audacity to end the season on a cliffhanger. Especially if it does in fact get cancelled.

Characters living well outside of their means always gets me. Not so much in today's shows, but in the 1950s and 1960s, so many sitcoms not only featured families living comfortably in a one-income household, but also with live-in housekeepers. Did they work for pennies per day, or were Hazel and the other devoted live-ins just ex-cons who worked there for free as part of some prison rehab program? It's one thing for a well-to-do family to hire someone to do the drudge work, but these housekeepers would even be serving breakfast, down to pouring out the coffee, for the TV couple every morning as well as everything else.

Clip shows where celebrities nobody has heard of talk about shows they are too young to have seen.
The general lack of happy endings these days.
Once-great cable channels changing their format to something stupid.

Lack of nudity.
Around the start of my teenage years I was watching UPN one afternoon waiting for WWE SmackDown to come on. I decided to watch Dark Angel right before it, because they hyped up Jessica Alba being naked in the teaser promo. I waited the whole episode for that scene to come on at the end. Her body obviously wasn't really shown, as it was obscured by the lack of light. I was so disappointed that I went to my basement, since my family was gone, to look at my Dad's porno mags for the first time.
The basic cable networks in particular like to play it safe. This is one of the reasons cable is dying.

Woman having sex with a shirt/bra on. Doesn't happen in real life. Yeah. You're right with that one. My Wifey and I rarely ever have sex with our clothes on and usually we can't wait to get them off each other heehee but they mostly do it to avoid having any nudity in TV shows and not all actresses want to or are comfortable showing their bodies on screen.

It's just lazy and poor directing.

The lack of quiet low-key little game shows these days. I mean shows like the 1960s version of Password, where the contestants were calm & relaxed...these days contestants on game shows are way too loud!

Woman having sex with a shirt/bra on. Doesn't happen in real life. Or wrapping a sheet around themselves afterwards. YES! That has always been one of my pet peeves!

Killing off characters because the actor wants to leave the show or because the show is ending and the showrunners think an audience wants a big body count. Love triangles and people acting like they've been in a six year long relationship after knowing each other for only a few hours. What always bothered me is once someone leaves a show, their character is usually treated like they never existed. Another annoyance is how bad everyone's aim is firing a gun, especially machine guns
