Most seem to have preferred The Road Warrior back in the day, but I always liked the original. Fury Road has become a new favorite for many, but that RW remake didn't change my mind one bit and Mel Gibson is Mad Max. What say you?
Actually, call me nuts, but I rank the films thus:
Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome The Road Warrior Fury Road

Fury Raod is the only truly good Mad Max film imo, I just wish Mel Gibson still played Max.
It's the only franchise I like in reverse order. The original is dull as hell.

We have to provide death and eternal damnation for the undead. We have to promote dead rights and at the same time oppose living impaired discrimination. We have to encourage a return to traditional dismemberment values and promote less evil force in the woods, people.

Seeing The Road Warrior in the theater when it was released is one of my most memorable childhood movie memories. Watching Mad Max years later was a big disappointment. No where near as exciting or entertaining whether or not Mel is dubbed.
Thunderdome had potential but was again disappointing. That last travesty can't really even be considered a Mad Max movie.

The Road Warrior gets my vote. I confess I haven't seen Fury Road, but it's unlikely I'd change my vote even if I did.

Fury Road is one of the best edited films ever made. But I much prefer the original Max.
