For any fan of his earlier body-horror science fiction, this is fantastic news. His book was a complete throwback to that stuff, which he's moved away from in his recent films.

AMC is reportedly developing a hourlong drama seres based on famed filmmaker David Cronenberg’s 2014 novel “Consumed”.
The psychological thriller follows two journalists who set out to solve the cannibalistic murder of a controversial Parisian philosopher.
“Fear The Walking Dead” showrunner Dave Erickson and “Lucifer” executive producer Sheri Elwood are teaming to pen the adaptation and serve as showrunners with the series falling under Erickson’s multi-year deal with AMC.
Cronenberg will executive produce and may also direct.
