star of Scarlet Pimpernel and Wuthering Hights, Who was she`? Just a beatiful Face? Married to english/ hungarian born Alexander Korda. She carried a secret that she wanted nobody to know, her origiens. She is never mentioned in old guides of Movie stars, She actually wanted nobody to know about her origins. A rare apparence on TV on What's My line, she looks revealed nobody asked the "wrong" questions. Her secret is no sensation nowdays by the way. All her life she was blackmailed by a half sister, who would tell if she did'nt pay that she was an Indian half caste, nobody would care nowdays with Leslie Wuthering heights As George Sand in polular Chopin Biopic Star dip dived and she appeared in 1950's Last big budget movie, 1967. hotel Her last movie was Interval 1973 directed by Delbert Mann, scenes from that movie has been blocked by other powers

Talented actress. I recall the first two classical Hollywood performance studies I ever wrote about (through choice & enthusiasm) were because I felt these 2 performers were slightly overlooked : one was Joseph Cotten in 'The Third Man' (1949), the other was Merle Oberon in 'Berlin Express' (1948).

I have only seen her in Scarlet Pimpernel and Wuthering Hights. Based on those to movies i would say she was a pretty good actress.

Notice that her name was before Lord Olivier. Lobby card from a MGM bio about Sigmund Romberg, one of the few biopics that actually followed the story of it's subject, even if it was thin.
