So there's one in the eye for Christians who vote Republican/Conservative.

Recently I was told that a good Christian is a dead Christian. Perhaps it follows that a bad Christian is one who is still breathing and thus contributing to "global warming."
I've known all along that I was going to die. He died for me. I'd rather die for Him than for any other reason.

This is true, but it could suck being either.
It's like choosing between massive diarrhea and a stubbed toe.

Basically, the Pope says that it's better to be a good person than a bad person. I tend to agree; but I know that adherents of various ethical or religious mindsets don't agree on what makes a good person.

i'm afraid the pontiff's words are falling on deaf ears here in the united states. for we've been manufacturing bad christians since the civil war.

And before that, the crusades, the 'holy inquisition'... the list goes on.

During all that time, there's been fantastic Christians too. Jesus never said good Christians would be in the majority.

It's also better to be an atheist than a bad Christian rock musician.

It'd argue it's better being an atheist in the first place.
To suggest there is something wrong with it is absurd unless you can name some reason we should think your god is real.

It's idiotic for them to be concerned about others. When those 'others' insist on making policy based on their religious beliefs that could affect most others that don't share those beliefs, it isn't 'idiotic' to be concerned.

It's idiotic for them to be concerned about others. Not at all. We are concerned about the reliance on ancient myths. If you weren't so worried about insulating yourselves, you wouldn't really view it as a problem.
For instance, you are more than welcome to challenge anything I believe.

To be clear, I don;t view it as a problem. Atheists are not a concern for me since they are hardly a voice. I just find it odd that you care so much about my beliefs. It's almost touching.

Imagine if the entire world was trying to find the oracle so they could get to Zion, and you'll have a feeling for why I'm concerned about how out of touch with reality you are. I mean I know you feel comfortable that so many other people are enabling you by being just as out of touch. It's just sad to see you in that condition, that's all.

Please give an example of theists making policy for atheists.
