I know some will hate me for this, but whatever, and I know we're still four months out, so there's still time to fix it, but by god, there are a lot shots where it's just ropey as hell, especially with the red sky/background. I like the red sky, because it's a nice nod to the Batman animated series where the sky was always different shades of red during night time. But it's very shoddy too, especially with Aquaman sliding down the building as it crumbles. Didn't feel particularly real, looked like cardboard. The composite really didn't work there. Same with the shot of Bruce driving the Batmobile and parademons are following him while making that turn as the tower is coming in the background. Just looks fake honestly. And I think Ciaran Hinds will deliver a great performance as Steppenwolf, however he's so limited as a CGI character, and some shots very superficial. I have this same criticism for Josh Brolin. I think he delivers a great performance as Thanos, but again, as a CGI motion capture character, he's very limited. I'll give X-Men: Apocalypse credit where its due. Apocalypse, Thanos and Darkseid are all similar in design with similar functions as the super big bad, and I understand why the producers would prefer CGI to make them feel big and looming. But, while I wasn't a huge fan of his design, I give X-Men props for doing prosthetic and makeup for Apocalypse. I wish they'd do the same for Thanos, Darkseid and Steppenwolf , and even Cyborg (look at the first two Terminator films, take inspiration from that) because it is possible and it'll feel more authentic. You can even touch it up with CGI if needed, but superhero films seem to have a thing for fully CGI'ed characters. But overall, I don't think the trailer particularly edited very well. It doesn't really tell an interesting story and just seems like a bunch of scenes thrown together. By that I mean, obviously it's pretty clear what the villains intentions are and what he wants to do. I get that. But the way it's presented, I don't find it that interesting. I wish we had some more snippets of Steppenwolf and lines from him. That said, from some of those scenes, I think there are interesting and cool stuff to take away from it. A lot of cool nods to the animated series which is cool. Love the attention Wonder Woman got from it. however, what was strange though (and this is because of how poor Batman v Superman was) was all the sudden love, reverence, and adoration for Superman. It's as if this they just forgot what happened in BvS. They throw out all these "important memories" of Superman and what he stood for, but you really don't get any of that with MoS or BvS, but especially with BvS, where the vast majority of the world was highly suspicious of Superman at best, or flat out hated him at worst, especially Batman too. He was hell-bent on killing Superman and now all of a sudden, he's a beacon of hope for him. Superman has only been Superman for like 2-3 years in this universe, so all the sudden this reverence for him feels completely unearned. Still looking forward to this film and hope it succeeds, but it's going to be tough to to top Wonder Woman.

Well, that's what happens when you try to cram all the character development you'd normally see in a trilogy in a single movie.

It did look very green-screeny.

Well, that's what happens when you try to cram all the character development you'd normally see in a trilogy in a single movie. well there are plenty of ensemble cast films that don't need a film per character, you can even take GOTG1 as an example where everyone comes together to seek a purpose greater than themselves. besides, we were going to get a JL film with Miller, with no multi-film lead up, and plenty of people were fine with it.

Watching it again, it jogged a complaint I had with the last trailer. The underwater scenes look awful-unless the part is out of context. Otherwise it's looking dark and murky.

Still looking forward to this film and hope it succeeds, but it's going to be tough to to top Wonder Woman. A lot of solid critiques there. The CGI doesn't look very well integrated into the film, which has been an issue in all the DCEU flicks, even "Wonder Woman" had a few spotty bits with it. Also, I agree with Superman. I felt like he came across as very aloof and mopey, I didn't really get the "heroic noble warrior" vibe from him that they're trying to say he had. The respect feels unearned, and Batman's development from being a murderous Punisher-like vigilante to leader and devoted "disciple" of Superman just isn't believable. As for Wonder Woman, she thus far is the only character who "earned her stripes" in my book. Honestly, to me she's way more likable and interesting than either Batman or Superman as of now, and I'm glad that they're giving her a lot more attention. And totally agreed on the editing. It just doesn't really make the film seem extremely epic and entertaining, but rather just dull. It's almost like a weird BvS and Avengers mix, if the trailer is to be taken at face value. As for the note about Apocalypse vs Thanos vs Darkseid, do remember that Apocalypse was widely panned by critics and fans, both in terms of his design and in his character. Prosthetics can do many good things and come across really well if used right, but there's only so much they can do until the actor has so much on that he/she is extremely limited by it. And some characters just can't be done properly without CGI. I think that applies to Apocalypse's case, on top of him being a poorly written character and looking terrible.

It doesn't really tell an interesting story and just seems like a bunch of scenes thrown together. It's a trailer. Trailers are just snippets of scenes thrown together into a 2 or 3 (or in this case, 4) minute clip and aren't intended to tell the whole story. I wish we had some more snippets of Steppenwolf and lines from him. People complained that the last BvS trailer showed too much Doomsday. Now you're complaining that this JL trailer didn't show enough of Steppenwolf. Make up your mind. We already know that Steppenwolf is the main villain so I prefer that they don't show too much and spoil things. Superman has only been Superman for like 2-3 years in this universe, so all the sudden this reverence for him feels completely unearned. Like the song goes: You never see the light of day Till it goes away You never want a drink of water Till the well runs dry You never miss a real good thingPeople often take things for granted and don't really appreciate things until they're gone. Superman had been saving lives for 18 months. Now that he's gone and no one is around to save people like Superman did, obviously the world is going to miss Superman and is going to remember how great it was when Superman was around to save people. it's going to be tough to to top Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman is 1 of the best CBMs ever made and better than all of MCU's movies and has even been mentioned by several websites as a potential Oscar nominee for Best Picture. So of course it's going to be tough to top Wonder Woman, not just for JL but for any other superhero movie. But that doesn't mean JL won't be a great movie too. LeBron James will never be as great as Michael Jordan, but that doesn't mean LeBron James isn't an all-time great player.

LeBron James will never be as great as Michael Jordan, but that doesn't mean LeBron James isn't an all-time great player. You missed the point by what I meant by showing an interesting story for a trailer. I'm not asking for a trailer that will spoil everything obviously. You can have the most obscure trailer ever and still tell an interesting story that makes you want more. It's not that the trailer is unclear what is happening, it's actually perfectly clear what's happening. Big alien invasion, a lackey to a bigger villain leading that invasion. Pretty clear-cut. But it's been done to death over the years with invasion movies. And the problem with this trailer and how it's edited, it relies on showing as many "money-shots" as it cans that's just stitched together poorly. Another problem is the DCEU is also trying to assure fans that there will be humor in it by showing the funny moments because they know fans were upset with how depressing and dour BvS was. Voice overs in any trailer is always an advantage and I think it could have benefitted from for Steppenwolf. It's especially useful if you don't actually want to show him in the trailer, make sure his presence is felt, while it can also briefly explain plot points while opening questions for the audience to wonder about before they see the film. Look at the trailer for The Avengers. It worked well because while it may be another alien invasion film, it also tells a story that's interesting as each member need to learn to get along with each other and even shows snippets of them fighting each other, so when you watch it, it makes you wonder before you see the film, how will they resolve their problems before facing the real enemy. It doesn't rely on the money shots to tell its story. Okay that really bears no relevance to the film. That's just your opinion and how you look at it in the universe, but outside to the audience, we haven't really seen Superman save many people outside of just Man of Steel with Metropolis really. So it makes it hard for us to really care for him but also, it feels unearned, especially when Batman has transitioned from the Punisher bent on killing him to wanting to best friends and inspire others to be like Superman, all because they both have mothers with the same name. Opinion, as usual dumbass, learn it.

Look at the trailer for The Avengers. I never saw the trailer for The Avengers. Didn't even know when The Avengers was being released until I saw a link to the full movie on some website. Batman has transitioned from the Punisher bent on killing him to wanting to best friends and inspire others to be like Superman, all because they both have mothers with the same name. You clearly still don't understand BvS. That's probably why you MCU fans like a movie where the big bad villain gets defeated by a silly Dance-Off.

Clearly a crock of shit on your part there, but whatever. Good luck trying to convince anyone here you didn't know there was an Avengers film when it was the most talked about film at the time of its release. And I understand BvS perfectly and what they were trying to achieve. It just didn't work though because you don't care for any of the characters, and because of that, it all feels unearned. And the Martha complaint still holds because the writers clearly wrote themselves into a corner, and had to end the fight somehow (even when it shouldn't have happened in the first place anyways), and because of that, the whole Martha thing comes off as a complete contrivance.

Yeah, that's my biggest concern with the Aquaman movie. The only way to make underwater scenes look good is to actually build an underwater set. But they won't do that, and probably can't do that because of all the underwater dialogue. You just can't expect actors to act so much underwater. So we're going to get massive amounts of green screen shots with actors that aren't really underwater making for some really artificial looking scenes. There's really no way to avoid that I'm afraid.

outside to the audience, we haven't really seen Superman save many people outside of just Man of Steel with Metropolis really. You obviously didn't watch MoS. The Avengers only saved New York city. Since the Chitauri had no superpowers at all, they were no threat to the rest of the world or even the rest of the country so eventually the U.S. military would've arrived in New York city and defeated the powerless Chitauri. But Superman saved the entire planet. The military wouldn't have been able to destroy the World Engine if Superman hadn't destroyed the World Engine and saved the planet. I can see why the world has so much reverence for the person who saved 7 billion humans from extinction. Good luck trying to convince anyone here you didn't know there was an Avengers film when it was the most talked about film at the time of its release. I thought all the talk about an Avengers movie was about another movie adaptation of the 1960s TV series starring Patrick Macnee and Diana Rigg. The only superhero movies I was looking forward to in 2012 were The Amazing Spider-Man and The Dark Knight Rises.

You clearly see the military engaging the Chitauri in battle and unable to hold them off. I'm not going to even bother arguing with this because you're a DC troll so there's no convincing you. And you miss the point I made about the Superman because BvS totally contradicts what you're saying. Sure, he saved the world and Metropolis. But come BvS, he's despised by hundreds who question him and his powers and everything, even laying some of the blame for Metropolis's destruction on him. Especially with Batman. Now all of a sudden, Bruce is his biggest fan and the trailer is hinting at these "great moments" of Superman inspiring others. Yeah, sure, in-universe, maybe there is some, but outside of the film's universe for the audience, we haven't seen much other than him saving Metropolis, but even that hardly qualifies as inspiring or creating this image of a beacon of hope because everything in BvS contradicts that because people are questioning him. So yeah, for the audience, the sudden reverence feels unearned and out of place. Are you retarded or just trying to make yourself look dumb?? Good luck trying to convince anyone of that.
