The scene with Aquaman crashing through the building he just fell through and almost surfing out like nothing happened sums up this trailer and how terrible it looks. That didn't for one second look like it was actually happening and doesn't make me excited to see it. It's just obvious they went for more bombastic WHAM BAM POW moments and I'm just not interested in films that don't take themselves at least a little seriously. It looks like it's for kids and that's fine. Flash wasn't funny but he was clearly supposed to be. I didn't feel any real tension. I didn't get any sense of what the hell is happening in the film. Many of you know I'm an MCU guy anyway, but this didn't do one thing to make me want give this a shot. At least I actually wanted to see WW.

I don't know how you can say that it looks like it doesn't take itself seriously and see that as a bad thing.
Antman, Guardians of the Galaxy 1 and 2, and the trailer for Thor: Ragnarok didn't seem to take themselves seriously. At all.

What so ever, but he did say he's an MCU guy ( who consistently keeps an eye on DCEU) anyway

There's a difference. Those films knew when to get serious. JL just looks like it thinks it's a Saturday morning cartoon. I mean if that's what you want ok, but that's what it looks like.

"I'd just really hate to be complaining this much. We are in the middle of the best comic book movie era ever and you're bitching about it. I feel sorry for anyone that can't just enjoy this."

No, I'm trying to make you see the hypocrisy of labeling the slightest criticism of the MCU as "bitching" and then creating a thread like this on the DC boards.

That's what you aren't seeing. Saying that there are few if any valid criticisms of the MCU doesn't mean that DC doesn't have problems, and I don't know why you're trying to cover that up by calling it hypocritical to say so. I'm not duty bound to accept the DCU just because the MCU gets it right. They have to earn it themselves.

It's also deliciously ironic that the humor in this trailer is almost certainly written by Joss Whedon, the very guy who crafted the humor in The Avengers movies, and now you're calling it cheesy... And that's on top of the fact that DC has been heavily criticized for being too dark. Now they have a touch of levity and they aren't serious enough???

Why are you applying what other people have said to me?
I've never said their problem was being dark, it was just lazy writing. Repeatedly, for characters, for plot points, for dialogue, etc. And their other problem has been favoring visuals over story, apparently thinking that trying to make stuff look cool is the most important part, and it's showed in a bad way.
And even though you're assuming Joss wrote the humor, let's run with that. So what? Am I obligated to laugh? Maybe it doesn't work as well because it's not as integrated into the story as it might have been if he'd written and filmed the entire thing. Have you considered that? Or are you just arguing for the sake of it?

For the record the only DCEU movie I like is WW. I'm not trying to defend DC. In fact I'm very much on the fence about this movie. I just think it's quite humorous to see how fans will turn on a style of story telling just because it's a different studio doing it. If Snyder made an MCU movie I guarantee you Marvel fanboys would love it and DC fanboys would hate it.

You're taking your own impressions and trying to apply them to what I'm saying, which is why you started off saying I was being hypocritical and thought you were trying to get me to see that, when that wasn't what was going on.
Instead take a step back and listen to what I'm saying. I promise I've thought it through.

i'm a little confused, wasn't one of the biggest (superficial) complaints MoS and BvS received was that they were too serious, too brooding, so they lighten it up for JL and now the tone is all wrong? really?................ really?

Nah, the MCU isn't ashamed of itself and embraces the wackiness. DCEU keeps trying to present itself as "serious drama", so when they try this stuff it doesn't match up.
