Always found their music pedestrian outside of a couple of tracks. Struggling to understand their street cred.

Yeah, never got into them at all. One or two songs that were just alright. Best thing that can be said about them is their guitarist Billy Zoom had a most legendary pose in rock. The way he stood while playing guitar - and a big grin smile on his face - was actually super cool. And if the best thing you can say about a band is how their guitarist stood...well, that band sure ain't much.

Put a "King's" in front of that, then we'll talk.

Maybe by today's standard they sound pedestrian to you, but Los Angeles, Wild Gift and Under The Big Black Sun were great LP's.

Four incredible albums and then John Doe and Exene got divorced, Billy Zoom left the band and X's sound became much more 'mainstream' ... and dull. They probably should've quit while they were ahead instead of dragging it out to the end of the decade. Nevertheless, they were one of the great bands of the early 80's punk scene.

He's on there every day and he isn't most pleasant person. Sure, he is helpful as hell when it comes to amps, speakers, vintage gear; but his manner is he is always right. Plus he doesn't like The Beatles.
