...should've gotten an Oscar nomination for his portrayal of Alfred the butler. I watched that movie recently on DVD and thought his performance really flew under the radar as a supporting actor. Probably got ignored because it was in a superhero movie. And one that had alot of over the top storylines. (Which is typical of most superhero movies).
Agree or disagree?

He was great in the movie, especially when he leaves Bruce. I don't know if he was in the movie long enough to warrant an Oscar nod, but he's better than most of the garbage they pick, so why not?

William Hurt was nominated for an oscar for an 8 minute role in A History of Violence, so screentime isn't a factor. Michael Caine was superb in his role, and on screen at least 9 minutes, but TDKR could have been better. If he'd acted to that degree in an adaptation of "whatever happened to the caped crusader?" that would certainly be something.

I love Caine and I like his performance, but a nomination? Not surprised he didn't get one and not that bothered. Was he any better than any of those nominated? Also it was the 3rd time he played that character...it wasn't really that much different than the previous 2 times, and they didn't get nominated.
