I had plans to see JACKIE in the theater, but never got a chance. I received the blu-ray in the mail today, I've made plans to watch it tonight. And? Verdict, please. The film had it's moments but overall not very good. The script and editing of the film were all over the place, nothing to grab your attention and hold it"so to speak" at least not for me. For me the most interesting character was played by John Hurt and sadly his role was very brief. Natalie had her moments also, but honestly I didn't see her performance as Oscar worthy. I have been a fan of Natalie for many years and she was the main attraction for me, but I have to say I was disappointed.

I'm not sure yet. Probably a superhero flick.

I've already done my viewing for today. I woke up at around 6:00PM, and it's now 3:41PM the next day where I live.
I watched: Juke Joint (1947) 7/10. Some of the reviewers on IMDb compare this 67-minute African-American film to being like a sitcom. Perhaps, but that's not a bad thing. The very low budget meant that some scenes use real locations instead of sets, this results in some odd camera-work. The highlight of the film is a lengthy sequence (unconnected to the plot) depicting some exciting dancing. Spencer Williams both directs the film and plays one of the main characters (he was one of the very few African-American film directors of the period). He is by far the best actor in the film, and even starred in a sitcom on CBS-TV during the 1950s. Sadly, he is forgotten today.
A Chairy Tale (1957) - 7.5/10. Delightfully weird 10-minute short about a man, and a chair that refuses to let him sit in it. Happily, Canada's National Film Board has uploaded it to YouTube:
There were some things I planned to watch, but did not. I was planning to watch Unit Beat Policing (1968), a short film which isn't listed on IMDb. But I never got around to doing it. I was also planning to watch an episode of the charming 1969 BBC children's TV series "Mary Mungo & Midge", but I was too tired by the time I got around to it. I'll try to watch it tomorrow. I was also planning to watch one of those 10-minute documentaries produced by the Australian Commonwealth Film Unit during the 1950s (many appear on YouTube), but also didn't get around to doing this.

Tonight I'm planning on revisiting a Hammer-esque horror film titled "The Black Torment".

I'm not sure what I'll watch today. Maybe some short documentaries produced in the 1950s by the Australian Commonwealth Film Unit. In those days, Australia produced very few feature films, but did a lot of 10-20 minute documentaries. A lot of these documentaries aren't listed on IMDb, but many are on YouTube. Some of them are them are purely functional, but some of them are rather nicely done.
