I bet the creators of junk food restaurants claim the same about normal restaurants (you know those with healthy food). You have fattened up so much on the Marvel formula, that you are unable to think or argue properly. I suggest a radical diet. Truth is, even though Marvel claims it was Superman 1, the modern genre and especially MCU was greatly defined by X1 and X2, along with films like Hellboy (Cap 1 ripped off the WW2 scenario and hero going into the present). MCU is an artistic dwarf, sitting on the shoulders of giants. Not acknowledging and honoring them makes MCU even smaller and vanilla ice-y...
The MCU was created because of those movies, no doubt about it, and I was a big fan of those. The creation of the MCU just opened up the world to something greater. No one is taking from those movies. They just have been surpassed in scale and vision. Still great stand alone movies. I'm including superman and Batman. The appeal of the MCU is the big picture. A solidified universe like the comics. I don't see anyone involved with the MCU not acknowledging that quite the contrary. Also caps story is many, many years prior to hellboy, saying it's a rip-off is nothing less than plain stupidity. Frankly, for someone copycatting some others poster's hyperbole MO to fight fire with fire (or fanboy shitstorm with fanboy shitstorm) you seem remarkably tone deaf and slow. Cum grano salis much?
3 fanboy demerits awarded.

Same with the X-Men movies. They survived due to no one knowing better.

Hear hear!
Amusing read. But please guys don't bait these gullible fanboys into that futile who-copied-who debate again, they are just too stupid to get the joke, and it will only end with the Superman1 quote...And the weirdraptor declaring"Shakespears never wrote an original thing", "No author ever wrote an original line".
Cringewave. Been there, done that.

I was gonna use that same "shoulder or giants" argument but refused to quote Sir Isaac Newton to these nimrods. You're a better man than I, sir. The jesters of the court agree with each other... How quaint. Who, you and formersamhmhmhmhdmhdmhdnmhmd?

Same with the X-Men movies. They survived due to no one knowing better. They survived and stil remembered as some of the best comic films produced. The likes of Antman and Dr Strange have nothing on the 2000s X films, other than visuals. No, that's just the nostalgia acting as a shield. Put X1 or X2 out in today's environment and they wouldn't do as well, mainly for their cowardly way of telling their stories.

X1 and X2 are all time CLASSICS that were grown up films for adults.. Dr Cheese and Kid-Man are marvel bubblegum movies for kiddies to chew popcorn on

lmao..The real mature Spider-Man with Tobey made far more money by this time when it came. You know why, because that was a mature movie for adults. Spider-Kid is flopping because the grown ups have realized that this movie is for kiddies. in what was is spiderman 1 more mature than SMH? lmfao.. Spiderman 1 had very adult themes. It showed wet breasts of MJ, lots of Blood during the last fight and even terrorism. Spider Kid meanwhile had lame jokes and CGI farts..

Put them out in today's environment when people aren't ashamed of comics anymore and they wouldn't do as well.
